It's looking like clubs are timing their 'administrations' so they can take the 10 pts deduction when they're safe from relegation (see Coventry and now Notts Co). Another loophole that the FL need to tighten up. Although I seem to remember something might be in place already about the timing towards the end of a season?
Yeah the season when Coco put the weeds into administration when they were already mathematically down needing to make up 30 odd goals from memory on the last game in the championship, then were punished with the minus 10/15 points the next season in League 1
Hopefully Notts County will sort themselves out. It would be a shame to the see the oldest professional football club in the world go under.
Jebus, it's a only a couple of years ago they had to be rescued before from those nutters who appointed Sven and were paying Kasper Scmeichel and Sol Campbell mega money. The games in a sorry state in the lower leagues for the sake of a couple of weeks of Yaya Toure's pay packet. I hope some of the £5.5billion filters down, but it will probably mostly end up in the players and agents pockets.
Thats the issue none of the 5.5 Billion does filter down and i look back to the away days i had at Boston, Halifax and Scarborough when i was younger and none of those clubs are still around in their original format. Don't get me wrong i watch as much as Premier League football as anyone, but i watch as much of North Ferriby as i do Premier League football. Unfortunately the fans are just not going through the gates in the lower leagues anymore.
it was on Talk****e this afternoon, mind you we all know how reliable they are so I bet its bollocks oh I misheard... its Coventry, coulda sworn they said notts county
There seems to be a lot of coinsidence going on here? Notts county have connections with North Korea, and are going into administration now. North Korea are threatening to blow everyone up. Millwardsteve has obvious connection there. Is there a conspiracy going on?
We're sort of past the deadline now. The rule is there to prevent already relegated sides from entering admin and making the points penalty meaningless. Unfortunately it's poorly written so midtable sides can still exploit it. As it's written, if a club enters administration anytime after the 4th Thursday of March (coincidentally emergency loan window deadline day) then the penalty is suspended. If they are relegated automatically then the penalty rolls over to the next season, if they survive relegation then the points penalty is applied this season, which can cause them to be relegated, or can leave them 1 point clear of the drop zone instead of 11.
