Nothing more than harvesting organs for the rich Chinese in the vast majority of cases. The numbers of those executed is a state secret! That's 65% of that year’s 10,000 surgeries, surgeries you cannot get unless you are well off in most cases, human farming in essence. The Island was a fictional movie, not so big a step from what the Chinese state is doing. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...till-harvests-organs-from-executed-prisoners/
Pretty barbaric, had a look at the article. Although no doubt a little bit of skewed truth from the US media. At least they use a gun to carry out executions, I'd far rather that than being strapped to a table, paralysed and then pumped full of poison - which according to the US is more humane...
Twisted 'journalism' from the Yanks there, with a piece full of assumption & guesswork. Given the 10's of thousands of innocent souls who've been killed by America's military in the last 20 years, I reckon they should get off their high horse when it comes to preaching about human rights.........
Some off-topic points to your off-topic thread: 1. The US death penalty employs the most disgusting forms of torture ever created. There was a great Horizon documentary "How to kill a human being" about the various methods. 2. Organ donation should be the default policy. If you don't want to donate when you die you should have to sign an official waiver. However this waiver should also mean that if you yourself need an organ you are placed on the organ list below everyone who didn't opt out. 3. The USA is one of just two countries who will excecute the mentally handicapped.
Wasn't there talk of the organ donor system in this country changing to this approach? It may have already changed for all I know.
Actually, that is against federal law and is considered unconstitutional. Not saying it doesn't happen but it is theoretically against US laws.
The Daily Mail will soon be suggesting that the unemployed and those on benefits are made to do this so that we can be 'competitive'.
