Are we sure that Harry would want Adel to stay?

Mouthwatering prospect! What I wouldn't give for a repeat of our triumphic march last time out.

Hopefully he can come to the same conclussion Warnock did. Sacrifice some managerial pride in order to get what you want, promotion.

I'd rather get promotion, if we need to, with a team that has a chance of staying up. Adel is a squad player now, if we make him the focal point of a new Championship team, then we have to start again and rebuild when we get back up.Love him as I do, I don't think ant premiership team can rely on one player to drive them any more, unless they are of Messi, Ronaldo or Bale class.

Absolutely spot on mate. We'd be in the same position in 12 months time.

Also..im not convinced adel would have the same tremendious success he had 1st time round.
we had a very elite/odd collection of players with a manager that had strange ideas & a player who Colin got enjoying his football.
Our midfield set up to cover any mistakes and pander to his every want and desire...and..it worked...in the NPC
    But
It did us more harm than good when we got up.

We need a team that plays as a team, not 1 superstar and 10 support acts. That's how swans, Norwich, hammers & saints are all surviving now!
I think Harry knows this & even if Adel does decide to stay, I don't think we'll se the same type of football we saw under Colin. Don't remember to many of his teams playing like that. he wont allow the game to revolve around a single player.
    AND
TBH..I'd much rather we keep Townsend than AT. Delivered consistently well every game since he's be with us in the Prem, far far superior player. The NPC would be s**t scared of him...(and remember he's only 3rd choice at spuds)
Sadly, its obvious we're gonna lose him and Remy......2 best players in our squad by a country mile!!

Frankly I would be very surprised, no amazed, if he is prepared to drop into the Championship with us. If by any chance he was, I would definitely keep him to help us get promoted. If then we were offered good money, time to sell. I just don't think that he is suited to the Premiership to make a big impression.

I think Taarabt has already made a big impression this season at times he has looked world class ... it's time for a few to clean their classes and they are covered with depressive **** ... Goals against West Ham, West Brom , Fulham twice his passing at times has been world class. He is playing in a world class league yet is still subjected to the stigma even from his own fans ... Because of that complete fool Shearer and the ongoing story attached to him that he can't do it ... **** the lot of them ... Adel Taarabt is a brilliant player and if he were to leave that class would go with him anywhere. Slowly people will change their minds and it seems he has to do things the hard way in this stupid country as it's set in it's ways ... QPR will sorely miss him if he were to leave IMO.

We build players up in this country to a unrealistic point then knock them down.

Adel Taarabt is easily in the top five creative midfielders in this league which people keep telling me is world class ... the best in the world again because we said so.

Adel Taarabt vision on a football pitch is world class, football know that we should break the bank to keep him IMO

I would defend him every time and have my own theory about the tripe that is generated about him and that is to do with his Arabic nationality. I believe because he's not Spanish or French or South American he is Moroccan ... Little old Morocco rubbish team syndrome he can't be world class ever yet ... sure as hell played better than the wonderful Silva this season IMO.

Totally ****ing pissed off with knockers within our own fan base ... should be proud he plays for QPR ... He is adored at LR and so he should be

Watch and learn to love our best player for many many years:

Harry is obviously not convinced. First at Spurs and now with us, Taarabt only making the bench in recent times. Don't get me wrong, I thought the Wigan match was calling out for his creativity and I thought he should have been sprung from the bench earlier. There is no question but that there have been flashes of brilliance this year and he has upped his work rate but he is not doing it consistently enough. I have been disappointed but it is because I am a huge fan and had high expectations.

The flip side of that is that we would be so much more likely to be promoted WITH Taarabt than without him imo.

Agree with you on that point mate, problem is its a very short term view, as has been proven over the last 2 seasons? He can definately create that spark in the lower leagues, but we'd have to start again once promoted..as we did at the start of our last campaign.
Sadly i believe SB is spot on with is post.

DT,,absolute rubbish..you're telling me you'd rather have Adel than Townsend or Remy?...well i guess its all aboput opinions i suppose. I'll go for the 2 that have done it every week since thier arrival over someone who's had 5 good games ( you named them) in 2 seasons.)

Be supprised if he's still here as i dont think he'd want to go down and may well go abroad. Obviously not cut out for the Premiership....YET !

Both Col and Queens are right. Its why we have to hang on to talent, or get more in, in addition to Tarbs. If we go back to a workmanlike team built for the championship plus Tarbs, we may well end up as the tallest dwarf, but find ourselves back to square one back in the prem. We've never recovered from having to make do and mend with a squad which was never up to it.
I'd like to keep as many of the current lot as possible, including Tarbs, plus add a couple of very promising younger players, and really go for it.
....all of course, in the unlikely event that we don't win the next 6 games.

Fair comment there, 'Scot' .................... he may decide he can be a full time player again ........... if, we head south.
There is no doubting his talent. He has shiploads of it. Problem is, he also has shiploads of attitude and whichever is stronger on the day, wins out.

Yes I would have Adel before the other two if was a choice however this wasn't even a question Adel Taarabt would be first player on the team sheet because of his vision and the way I love football to be played

Townsend has been excellent for us but a very simple young player who is very similar to others

Remy is class and I told the board that way before most had even heard if him
But a striker never the less and will always disappear in games

    Adel runs games

Do you not think that the goons played a huge part in things too though mate?
If we could have had a "normal" pre-season after we were promoted, then, who knows, we may have been able to build around Taarabt?
I still think he'll be gone if we go down and, like Roller, I'm not convinced Harry would want him. I believe we could get up WITH him and then make some necessary additions following promotion, without making too many changes.

That's the beauty of the board mate, its all opinions...

Personally I wouldn't build a team around someone who is inconsistent & erratic and you never know what he's gonna do, You'd never know how to set out a team because you'd never know which Adel would turn up.
Im talking in the Prem now, not NPC.
If he had the consistency, then you culd set your team out to play to his strengths, but if he feels like sulking, is overweight or the moon is in the wrong phase then the team would have a shocker.
I'd be more willing to build a team around townsend, who DT says (wrongly!) is a normal player. lot of defenders in the past few weeks had a lot more to do against him than Adel. And I be willing to put my money that he has another good game this weekend. As for At, don't even know if he'll fancy playing this week?
Totally agree we could get up with him, but also quite confident we could get up without him too. just take a bit more teamwork & that would stand us in good stead for our return....as a team..!
The Goons did play a big part in the 1st season, but not so sure they can be blamed for this season. At some point the players have to take some responsibility for their own performances...ALLL OF THEM!
facts are too many of our new and existing players just haven't been or are not good enough to deliver consistently. couple of good games a season is no good to anyone.
