    Say the game on Thursday ends 3-1 to us and extra time is null. Which 5 players would you want to step up to the mark in the following penalty shoot out

    For me: Ameobi, Cabaye, Sissoko, Marveaux and Taylor

    I just remember a U21 England game a few years back which went to penalties (ended 15-14). Taylor ended up taking two penalties and took both very well

    Wouldn't mind if he took one, he'll always try like hell and give it some leather, I was just thinking that maybe Anita would be a bit cooler.

    I'd like to take one, I never miss my penalties and I always hit them into the same spot and its literally unsavable at amateur level lol.

    But if it went to penalties

    Penalties are as much about character as skill. Almost any player has the skill to score from the spot: doing it on the night is something else

    I wouldn't be able to look if Cisse was taking one, even more than usual. Eating pressure for breakfast? He has scored some good goals lately but is still missing a fair few sitters.

    Know how many sitters Shearer missed ?

    No, no one else does either. The only stat they keep track of is the amount he scored but if someone put together a reel of Shearer squandering chances, it would be long and painful to watch

    I was gonna say Marveaux but not convinced he'd have the heart for it. I'd have picked Debuchy if he'd been able but obviosuly can't play (I'm sure I've seen him take one before prior to joining us??)

    Provided no one notices that he always takes the same penalty. It's a beuaty - - struck clean and low, inches inside the right post - - but every one he has ever taken has been identical. Some day a keeper will have done his homework and just postion himself at the right post, like a centre half defending a corner.
