With regards the Thatcher debate, whilst I don't agree with the outpouring of joy from our lefty friends, I can fully understand where they're coming from. I'd be the same if Kinnock, Brown, Blair or any other socialist **** died

Blair was a socialist, was he? He hid that well. I thought he founded Blue Labour (aka tory bastards).

Look was Davies has done with Forrest. Not saying he would have been the right man for us, but I agree. Lets get someone in now <ok>

Flipside is I suppose, there will be plenty of Gaffers looking for a job in the summer so maybe we are right to hold on as long as we can stay up!

LUFC is a right mess at the moment & this season has been another complete write off. How many more the fans will stand for I dont know!

Wait for the summer when more people are available.

Thatcher - foul hag. Enjoying the record gas, electric, water and council tax bills? All started by Thatcher.

The facts of the matter, however unpalateable they may be to those who were affected by her policies, is that she was re-elected by a majority for enacting her policies. With every political decision that is taken there are winners and losers, and those decisions are taken by and large, by dogma and not rational thought.
The mining industry was lost as were huge swathes of industry, and we are paying for these decisions at the present moment, but it benefits nobody, the outpouring of bile and hate that is being directed towards Mrs Thatcher.........

One thing we can all agree on though is that she did not position herself whilst in power, to benefit financially like those that have followed her...

I don't know why we're having all this speculation about a new manager. Surely we've all learned by now that it will be someone cheap & available, and ready to start the day after the transfer window closes?

Or has Bates just made me a wee bit too cynical these days?

The facts of the matter are that three years into her first term in office she was trailing disastrously in the opinion polls and on the verge of being kicked out - by the electorate and by her own party. Only the Falklands war helped her to victory in the 1983 election as she rode on the crest of a wave of misplaced patriotic fervour. The fact is the conservative government didn't give a toss about the Falklands until the invasion, failing to provide the most basic defences as a deterrent to the Argentinian military regime, they had even considered selling the islands to Argentina and leasing them back at one stage. The war was a huge gamble that paid off.

It's worse than that, Marko. Our stupid board are after Mourinho. They think the £12m wages he wants is the squad wages!

I am afraid if we wait for the summer to appoint a manager we will be playing in league 1.
I think Saturdays game is a must win.
