I watch football because I love the game and my team. I'm as disappointed as anybody that progress is so slow but I'll watch every minute we play, regardless of targets-or lack of them.
We tailed off last season once 4th was gone and there was still a cup final to stay fit for. It'll be interesting to see how much effort there is left and how 8th and a cup was labelled a failure but 7th and no cup will be held up as major progress. Of course I lie. It won't be interesting at all. I'm sick of hearing about how Arsenal haven't won anything for years but at the same time have qualified for CL consecutively for centuries. I'm guessing Arsenal fans are even more sick of it. Hey, does everybody remember 2008? When we came 4th? Sigh, special memories.
all i can say is i can fondly remember actually trying to win things, it was half like that last year this year is more like watching roy evan's or souness last years... or maybe houlliers first year... soory for holding lfc to high standards but i also want to be talking about actual achievements not 4th
Same for me. My comment doesn't mean I won't watch the games or that I don't want us to win them, it was more a 'we are not going to achieve anything so what's the point in looking at our remaining games in the hope we can still get somewhere whilst pointing out that we still have two "big games" left to play' sort of comment
Realistically, I think we can win 4 of those. We've won 5 out of our last 7, with 1 draw, so 4 out of 6 isn't asking too much. I actually think the two we'll have most difficulty with is Newcastle and Fulham away. Although don't be surprised if Reading end up beating us...
Reading V Liverpool - this depends on who's bothered. are reading clinging on and desperate or are they resigned to their fate? A draw is a safe call. Liverpool V Chelsea - this one is agent rafa's return so the whole focus will be anfield going ra-fa- rafael while the Chelsea fans grind their teeth and boo him. I think this one matters not a jot to chelsea. I think we can draw it. Newcastle V Liverpool - this one is newkies main game of the year I reckon we'll lose it. Liverpool V Everton - uncallable. Fulham V Liverpool - fulham play at home, but they are not that bothered as they are safe enough and should be completely safe by this time. I still think a draw. Liverpool V QPR - harry to get dumped LFC win cos nobody will be interested by then. I'll call it 6-9 points out of 18.
