It might be a stupid idea to host the World Cup in Qatar, but this stadium(capacity 45,000) looks rather impressive...

I did wonder if the big grey building to the left of the stadium might be a 'splash boat'...

Good job that it is a dry country, can you imagine how many would drown if pissed up and going for a swim after a game.

They seem to have gone for a Homer Simpson mooning theme.

I went to the International Khalifa Stadium a while ago to watch Spain v Uruguay ..... Got there half an hour before kick off and still missed the first 15 mins asking to see ID and passports to get in some people miss the first half completely.

They have allot to put right before they can even think about it otherwise there would be riots outside the stadiums.

The artists impression looks impressive to me though.

Seats covered in bird sh8t because they don't flip up.

It's only a dry country for the locals - not for the Europeans etc. who can get a very generous liquor allowance from the countries one and only off licence - that's some monopoly! Visitors can buy alcohol in hotel and many restaurant bars.

Expensive it may be but wet it certainly is! However do not wear sandles if you visit some of the better hotel bars. Many have a dress code that bans sandle wearers.
