A good piece, Stamford, and thanks for the quote on your strapline (or whatever those banner-thingies are called along the bottom). Unfortunately, if it was akin to an amazing climax, Wigan's equaliser shortly afterwards was like turning her over afterwards and finding a huge John Thomas and a pair of lovespuds.
Great leader, the likes of which we'll never see again. Gave people the opportunity to be successful and not need to feel ashamed of it. Took on the Unions which could and would bring the country to a standstill (and occasionally still do). Gave people the right to be homeowners who otherwise wouldn't have dreamed of it (a policy Labour considered and didn't have the bollocks for). Dragged this country from being the basket case it is headed back towards and made it an economic superpower. By no means perfect, but a genuinely great Briton and those who have succeeded her in blue or red have been pathetic in comparison.
Or maybe just f*** off over to General chat before you piss a few people off on here As I said.......same old Cerny
Mourn the dead because they're always someone's loved one. As a person, for me, she was a figurehead for the capitalist money grabbing that is so ingrained in society that it infiltrates all of our psyches. She one said we live in a classless society. She was right - the wealth divisions still exist but there's a complete dearth of decorum and togetherness. Don't think she meant it like that though...
Not at all...... but I thought there was a joke thread for that. And trust me.....no joke about Mrs Thatch would offend me....but reading the comments on here it's obvious some would be.
On a serious note did anyone watch that film about maggie ? Brilliant film and lots even I didn't know.
You're right Cerny. Apologies, tonight it's me looking for a bite. I'm going back to 'Spartacus', nothing like a bit of soft core porn-art to cheer me up.
Uber, I'm glad you don't mind me using one of your quotes, it's genius! Not a fan of the actress that played Maggie, would have prefered Kate Beckinsale.
