If they don't try to get the minutes silence through before the derby eg Newcastle vs Benfica. Then if they do ask for a minutes silence at the derby both sets of fans could make as much noise and shout as much abuse as possible. However, if they ask for a minutes applause both sets of fans could just stand in complete silence. Just an idea.

I don't think you'll get much support on here for mixing politics with football <whistle>

What has Maggie Thatchers death got to do with football, why would the FA think there is a need for a minutes silence, whatever your politics the death of an ex prime minister has got nothing to do with football. No need to acknowledge this event in my opinion.

I don't think that they would be daft enough to try and get a minutes silence for Thatcher in the North East!

Aye, but manager wears lovely purple jumpers, with a red tie and white shirt, very snazzy.

Although unimpressed with his black and white ****e attire

He's not in a position to shut down whole industries like Thatcher was. He never will be. He's a footballer not a politician.

So I don't care if he politically follows Marx , Hitler , Mao , Stalin , Mussolini , Tooth Fairy , Easter Bunny , Santa Claus or whoever the Hell he likes as long as he does a good job as Head Coach at our club.
