    RIP Maggie.

I would have loved to see that loud mouthed Argie PM trying to door step her!

Couldn't stand what the woman stood for, she destroyed so much of our caring culture and introduced the "me" generation ...but as a leader of HER party she was second to none
Reminds me of a joke on Spitting Image.

Dinner is being served at a cabinet meeting, Maggie at the head of the table, the rest of the male cabinet members are sitting around.
The waiter as Maggie what she wants and she says " a steak (pink)"
The Waiter says "Vegetables?"...and Maggie says"they will have the same as me"

I don't think disagreeing with other posters will work on this thread Stamford, unless you want it closed down. There will be strong views about her on either side, which won't be changed no matter how well argued points are.

State your view, respect others' right to theirs, however much you may dislike it, and move on. Like a memorial book.

The only thing I am sad about is that it will give the Daily Mail an excuse to slap a 20 page spread about her in their rag and have a bunch of right wing twats bleating on about "she made Britain Great again". Nobody will have the balls to go on record to say what a bitch she was, the lickspittle excuse for the Labour Party will be falling over themselves to say what an important national figure she was instead of admitting she was the ruin of the working class.

To be honest mate I can only see this thread going one way, forgive me if I'm wrong. That's why I think I'll keep my views to myself on this one. Enjoy ;)

She was great if you were one of the 1%, not if you were one of the 99%.

All politicians are crooks and I dont think theres a single PM Ive ever respected.
Labour spend money we dont have, the tories screw over the working class.

Just seen the plans for her grave. Beautiful really, but I think they could have made the dance floor a bit bigger.

You sound like a real problem solver. Could do with a PM like you.

I could never be a PM, Id send anyone who reads the daily mail to labour camps (love the irony of that) and remove all the health and safety PC bollocks too.

I could only ever be a dictator! Maybe NK will want me soon.

No queue jumping thank you very much. Get in line.

    Some dumb people out there:

The best part of this all, for me, is the Cher fans who have gone into meltdown thanks to hashtag #nowthatchersdead

On the strength of the one message (can't say PM on this one!) received suggesting we close this thread for the divisions it's likely to cause, I think it best to wait until those divisions happen and the thread's spoiled.

As for me, not sure if or when Thatcher died as it goes. Thought her cronies murdered her in November 90... then she bounced back as leader of new labour. The 'me' generation's not nearly done. She'll be back, no doubt.
