Of course it's madness to compare Taarabt in the wall with Remy hitting the post. But football is one endless series of ifs and buts. Personally, I saw Taarabt "sort of jump", "sort of twist" and "sort of hunch his shoulders". I didn't see him necessarily duck out like a sissy girl. Could he have done more, stood more resolutely, taken one in the mush for the good of the team? Yes, certainly. Is it fair to attribute the loss of 2 points to him? Of course not. That's all I'm trying to say in my typically long-winded, tedious and convoluted way.
Good point actually here for all the wise posters who knew we were down after this game or that game! ... well done! yesterday's result shouldn't really affect this attitude should it? Adel reacted in a micro second so what? it was a super goal and gave Wigan a great underserved point ... we are already down so no worries ... so play the reserve team or dismantle teh team spirit and only play players that may be here next season FFS ... concentrate to see how daft and crazy that statement is and the others blaming this and that.
Get in there Uber! a load of posters on here will be eating their words from me when we do this. Could have Should Have Could have Should Have Could have Should Have Could have Should Have ... but it has happened move on Everton
With Harry at the helm all will be well. He will know for sure who he wants to stay, who'll leave and he build his own team in the Summer. Just enjoy the last few games with no stress.
It's very simple as far as I'm concerned. If he wants to stay, let him. Tell him to prove the world that our promotion season wasn't a one-off and that he can repeat it; surrounded by better players this time (hopefully)! If he wants to go; even a little bit, then let him go. No room for anyone not committed 100% to QPR; that has to be our mantra.
His actions in the wall were instinctive, but obviously if those are his instincts (they would be mine too) he shouldn't be there. Now look at the clip again and focus on Mackie. He doesn't jump, flinches out of the way and, after it goes in throws his hands up and starts shouting at people. I'm sure we could work out ways to blame the entire team if we wanted to, not sure where its gets us. Stay or go? Not interested until the summer, when whatever happens we will see yet another massive turnover of players, followed by 'gelling' arguments.
Good post, can't see him having another great year in the Championship. Would be better off in France or Turkey, if we keep him his value will certainly drop.
If we can get a better player than Tarbs, then yes. I would also like to see Tarbs play in Ligue 1. Would do well at Lille or Lyon IMO.
If we can we have to keep him imo. Tbh I cant see a top club coming in for him as he simply hasnt performed consistently at PL level. Bring him back down with us, and he will help to get us out of the NPC. You need players like him to help you win the tight games.
Faurlin would be great back with us for a Championship season. Would be nice if Taarabt stayed too - he would have another field day scoring at will like in our promotion season.
I feel the same as rrrrs: Adel has given me some of my favourite moments at Loftus Road over the last few seasons and made parting with my cash that much easier. I hope he stays because, yet again, he'll be a star in the Championship and help us to win those tight games. To me, his flair is what QPR is all about and he is a present day incarnation of the most gifted players that I've been privileged to watch at Loftus Road over the past few decades. He's still young and he's going to get even better.
His nutmeg and touch passed another defender was pure class, moments like that are priceless. He is still our player that I most want to see, I don't see why we would want to sell him.
I wouldn't want to see Adel go, but also accept that if a decent offer comes along, he won't hesitate. If by some persuasion he could be convinced to stay, then he will undoubtedly set the Championship alive. If nothing else, it will give us all something to cheer.
No more change. If we can keep as much of this squad together as long as feasibly possible we will storm the Championship by a gulf not seen before. With this squad, this manager and our owners we will be back and much stronger. It's up to TF and Beard to do this. We will now see who the real mercenaries are.
Excellent Ninesy! Selling Taarabt would be like England selling the crown jewels. It must not happen under any circumstances.
But only if the crown jewels want to stay. A half hearted Adel, who is looking at the bus timetables will be no use
That is the managers job ain't it? Warnock did it, Harry should be able to as well. We know for a fact Adel wants to stay with us, preferably in the Premier League of course. But I don't think the options he'll get this summer will be to tempting to him, making it possible to persuade him to give it a shot at getting us back to the promised land. Win win for everyone
One thing's for sure........if he did stay, he would rip the Championship to shreds again!! What fun that would be eh?
