This comes from Sky Italia and Tancredi Palmeri. The three were: 1. Saphir Taïder - 21 year old Algerian - Midfielder - playing for Bologna 2. Alessio Cerci - 25 year old Italian - Winger - playing for Torino 3. Alessandro Diamanti - 29 year old Italian - Attackind Midfielder/Striker - playing for Bologna DTLW
Diamanti was at West Ham. I am certain we routinely look at a lot of players but interesting that we are back in Italy once more.
Oh for sure Joe, I know we must have scouts all over the place every weekend. Just interesting to make note of some names and see if anything comes of it.
This is going to be such a long summer. (NB I use the word summer to indicate the months of the year rather than a period of sustained sunshine).
Taider and Cerci would both be good signings, Diamanti not so much. Taider would offer good competition to Morgan and Jack. while Cerci is and out and out left footed winger, who plays on the right handside cutting in.
Diamanti is a current Italy international! Good player. Have to admit he doesn't quite "fit the profile" though, quite similar to Ramirez as well so would be a strange signing.
He has good ability but is very greedy, I don't see how he fits in. Also at 29 doesn't seem to fit in with our usual transfer policy, wouldn't come cheap either. I don't know if anyone watched Basle the other night but they had a good young winger who would fit in perfectly. I think his name was Salah or something like that.
Also anyone with Sky couple of players that saints have been linked with are playing, Barrada of Getafe and Adrian Lopez of Ath Madrid.
Saleh I think. He did look a real handful, bit like Lennon. Also like Lennon his end product wasn't always great! The guy on the other side looked really good, think his name was Stocker.
Valentin Stocker. Yeah he was the best player on the pitch by some margin, I thought. Salah was a bit wasteful at times, but his movement was good.
Valentin Stocker, I wanted him in the summer when we all thought the Ramirez deal fell through. Oh the depressing stages during Saint Gaston were emotional.
