Many on here and the Watford boards were criticising Cardiff's performance yesterday, yet the team achieved the goal that MM set them up for, which was to keep a clean sheet. At this stage of the season it is results that count, not how attractive the style of play is. No points for artistic impression, which that lot at Palace seem to think there is. We went to Watford only needing to stop them closing the gap, no pressure on us to get a win, which our points gap gives us the cushion of doing. If we now get the 3 points on Tuesday that will autos basically sorted, with Watford being 11 behind with 15 to play for. I'm sure you would have loved to have got that result against them last Tuesday. Good luck with getting the auto's.
Anyone who knocks Cardiff is an idiot, because they are where evry other team wants to be.. Did West ham play pretty football when they came down to this division? No.. Big Sam knew what he was doing, so does Malky M and so does Bruce.. Murray had dried up so palace are stuttering, Watford remain a threat..
There's plenty of idiots on here who swallow all the "must play attractive football" bollocks. If City win the next 5 matches, like Cardiff have been doing we're up. The performances are a bonus at this stage of the season. Why give a toss whether people think you play "decent" football?
With the prize waiting 5 games away I'm inclined to agree with you under the circumstances. But over the course of a whole season, I'd honestly rather get relegated playing like barca and losing alot of 4-3's or 5-4's than watch Stoke mk2 for a whole year. At the end of the day, what it all boils down to, football is about entertainment. Stoke is the polar opposite.
Fully agree. I hate when people say 'The only thing that matters is the result.' No, I want to watch a good game of football. Winning always helps of course.
You sound positive, what odds will you give, because I can't get better than 1/10 with the bookies on us.
In all fairness we know we haven't been pretty for a long time now, although we have played and are still able to play good football. But nobody is going to worry about that at this time. As for entertainment, well it's been edge of the seat stuff wondering if we are going to get a result in any of the games, so preety it might not be, but entertaining edge of the seat stuff it has been, what a ride!
West Ham played a long ball game relying on crosses and 'second balls'. Cardiff (and us) are nothing like that. We defend well and are organised, yes, but we attack in a creative and entertaining way too and don't just hoof it. In fact at City we don't even have anyone to hoof it too.
