Do you guys think we need a new RB or are you happy with Simpson? He was playing well at one point and has been going downhill with his performances recently. On top of that his tendencies to back off when one-on-one defensively has cost us a few times this season and he is beginning to look like a weak link.

So would you sign a new first choice right back for next season? If so who would you sign? We could steal Onuoha from the SMB noses ;)

For next season, I am happy with Simpson, but the season after would be when to replace him if he doesn't improve.

I do not rate the little cock-end Simpson, has never impressed me. Positionally crap, how many goals have been conceded from players cutting in from the Left? Seems to think he is brill but does nothing for me (can you tell i like him?!?!)

I wouldn't make it a priority but if someone becomes available who we think is more capable then definitely do a deal for a new RB

He seems fine to me, certainly better than most Prem RB's.

Good on his day but over time he cannot sustain a high standard of performance. I think that he will stand out as the weak link in our starting eleven if we do not get a better RB this summer (assuming we get the RW and strikers we are expecting). He is easily good enough as back up but I think we need to look for a better player for the starting eleven.

He's done well this season and his improved continually since we signed. He's still relatively young so it would be a shame to see him dropped. We need a right back though, for cover if nothing else. I think a striker, right midfielder and centre half should be higher on the agenda than a first choice right back though.

Would like a replacement and have him as backup if I'm honest. He's had some fantastic games this season and some decent ones too, but he isn't very consistent or reliable and offers next to nothing going forward. He can take the ball just into their half but gets stuck and passes backwards instead. I know we have no natural right winger like we do on the left but Simpson just seems unable to read attacking play at all, lacks creativity.

Not a priority would prefer to see the money go to areas in desperate need (DL, wingers and forwards). Although if possible then yes replace him, definitely the weak link in defence. 1st goal he left Tchyoi and the other 2 came from his side of the pitch. As for suggestions, Alan Hutton mebbes?

I'm not his biggest fan either, I would prioritise a new RB after we have new forwards sorted. He's single-handedly been at fault for many goals this season and doesn't compensate by offering much going forward. Decent back up if anything and I don't mind his attitude but he's a definite weak link in our defence. How many goals conceded have come from our right hand side? He backs off far too much and often plays well out of position. I'd love Bassong back, he has the pace and skill to be a great RB and is alot stronger physically than Simpson.

Isn't Bassong left footed though? And primarily an all out CB?

Didn't realise he was left footed, I've noticed him playing on the right before and he looked ok.

I'd definitely have Bassong back, as long as the price was acceptable, but probably just as a 4th CB mainly like

4th choice? He's a better CB than Willow and Taylor anyday!

This ^. Bassong would be starting eleven. He is streets ahead of Willo or Saylor.

Simpson isn't bad - there's other more pressing concerns. That said, if Walker was available (the one on loan at Villa from Spurs) was available he'd be a great signing.
