I was actually surprised at Reading. I thought we were in for a real contest, while watching the first 20 minutes, but the goal sucked a lot of life out of the Reading players. From then on they started to lose belief by the moment, and although they continued to pressure, there simply wasn't enough quality. There was nobody in the Reading team who looked to be able to step up and make the difference. In contrast, you could pick any of the Saints side who were up for it. Although I'm understandably pleased for us, I'm sorry to see Reading's fall. However, I do think you'll be back the season after next. Spend that parachute money well.
Regardless of how many goals he scores or however many honours he may win during his career, he will always be One-Goal to me.
MP has to decide whether to play Davis or Ramirez. Clyne kept on finding himself ingreat positions but there was no help for him so he had to pass it backwards. At the moment I would say the form of Davis makes him a starter along with JRod Rickie and Lallana with Punch and Ramirez on the bench
Fully deserved to win the league last year on the strength of that masterful run you put in, but the defense that looked impenetrable at times in the Championship just hasn't looked the same at this level. If they regain their confidence, and you're able to keep le Fondre, I'd favour you over any of the contenders for a quick return. Hope to see it.
Just got back in...haven't read the earlier posts, but a terrific and timely result bearing in mind that Villa won. Are we doomed to be always only 4 points above relegation spots We are on form (in fact apart from the odd loss, we have been on form for over half the season), so can't see anything terrible happening now. Other teams are getting sucked in, so I am hopeful we will finish high in the table.
LFF, that's a bit of a naff approach mate... "told off". Are you slagging him off? No. You said he "didn't look at his best|, which is a fair critique.
~Hoiveld will play next week. I know what you mean though Lff, he doesn't inspire loads of confidence. He could have easily given away a pen today, as it turns out it was a great tackle. I still think for next season, we're looking at pairing up someone new with Maya.
Nonsense. I'll give you the best examples of that as the home game against Arsenal and the loss against Sunderland. He worked his socks off in both games and stood out for that in both games. He worked fairly hard today too.
