I'm very pleased kairdiff are replacing QPR, and I will be even more pleased when we take 6 points off them, and send them back down!............... please log in to view this image
ooooosh! The only reason i came across this forum is because i was searching for Michelle Keegans boobs from The Sun online! nuff said. then i stumbled upon this 'ere thread. --- So...Caiiiiiiirdiff is going up yeh? only coz the championship is so ****e this year...thats why. IF the swans were in the championship this year, we would've already have been promoted a month ago! Going from the "friendly banter" (facebook page) between Caiiiirdiff and the mighty Jacks from at least 2 years ago (before we were promoted), most BB fans already predicted we'd go up. For once there was some realistic talk amongst them and us. Being a Jack thru n thru, I would hate it for CCFC to go up....BUT...the other half of my tiny terrace brain says....hell yeah! bring it on...lets see who does it! Caiiiirdiff will be the next QPR or Reading and whoever to go back down. Even BB fans aren't that hopeful that they'll stay up. Both the Premiership and the championship aren't as strong as they used to be. Yeh i know Im shooting myself in the foot by saying the PL aint the force it used to be and my team are in there. But at the same time we've been consistently mid to top table with only the rest of the best above us. NO-ONE predicted that the swans would be where they are, and its only a couple of bad results like the stupid WBA win (that wasn't) have held us back. Did anyone predict we'd win the league cup? no!...not even me! The swans have shut-up all so called 'pundits' this season (and last) I digress Sorry Caiiiirrrrdifffff I cant see you staying up. u aint got the squad, the right owners, or the quality. (being Welsh, i actually hope that you do stay up...BUT BUT BUT only from a Welsh standpoint....it'd make Sky super sundays better with the Derby) Good luck...but hope for the best and expect the worst. Jack Army Dave
Sorry, not been on for a while, my computer was telling me that malware was on the Swansea site, hope your computers are all ok as it seams to have been resolved now. I think Cardiff will do ok in the Premiership. They have held their own at the top of the Championship this year, remember we only got in via the playoffs and certainly didn't dominate the Championship like Cardiff have done this year, they have really played well and deserve to be promoted. I'm not sure if they have enough money to invest in a few players they need to ensure they stay up or not but I think they have a good chance of staying up. Of course, personally I would like to see them drop like dogs but that's just me. Sorry Mum, brother, uncles and the rest of family all born in Cardiff, but I was born in Neath and it's just the way it is.
will be interesting to see who comes up and who hangs on by the skin of their teeth, championship bar cardiff is a raffle this season however having said that if Cardiff lose to Watford tonight hmmmmmm who knows
Unbiased opinion because I don't "hate" Cardiff just for being Cardiff. I'm certain they will finally get to the Premier League but I'm equally certain they will go straight back down because they just do not have the quality to survive. Work rate and organisation, their strong points, will only take them so far at this level. New signings will help but they will take time to gel and, by that time, it might be too late. They will offer nothing different, as we did, which could help them. Most clubs in the Premier League play the way they do, only they do it a lot better. It will be interesting to see how it pans out.
So did QPR and Reading, look where they are now. Finishing top of the championship means absolutely zero when it comes to competing in the PL.
I have no doubt that Cardiff will make it up. It would have been interesting if Watford hadnt had a recent slump but they have thrown away too many points but they might still steal it off Hull. As for Cardff staying up then I have severe doubts over their ability to do that as Ivor says they work hard but that will only keep the a game 0-0 for so long! Their defence looks very suspect and they will need to spend some significant money to strengthen their squad. My 3 to go down will be the 3 who come up! p.s. NewJersey nothing wrong with being born in Neath - so was I. How long ago did you leave there? I left in '82 to do my missionary work in Hertfordshire
Doesn't make a difference they won't be here long. Watching the Watford game now, what an absolute pile of ****, both teams. All 3 that come up to go back down imo. Very poor championship this year.
Couldn't agree more. This is the worse game I have seen for a long time. If you didn't know any better you'd think there are two pub teams on show.
Commentators mentioned about them not having a player on double figures for goals yet!? That's insane! We kept 24 clean sheets in the championship one season but doesn't count for ****e in the prem if you can't score. We had a Scott Sinclair and DG who could distract defenders and open gaps for other players... Cardiff have no one. It will be man for man against prem opposition and there will only be one winner there. They are gonna have to do some serious spending in the summer but then obviously risk going down the qpr route.
If either team think they can play like that in the Premier League and get away with it, they've got an almighty shock in store. They will get mauled on a weekly basis and I'd be very worried if I were a supporter.
they were both terrible in my opinion, might scrape a point v qpr or reading, oops forgot, they are both going down
Lets not forget what an average side you had getting promoted through the playoffs to the premier league. Then managed to survive because all the teams below were so poor. You have strengthened and pushed on but lets be honest its still been a pretty piss poor season by premier league standards. swansea are a small club punching above their weight and doing ok. enjoy while it lasts i guess. one decent season and you think you are world beaters..come back down to earth a little you drew at norwich yesterday ffs. Us on the other hand i now fully expect to be coming up as champions. We will have to strengthen in summer for sure and we could well have a difficult first season but i think we will survive. As a club though we have more scope for growth and much more potential. Looking forward to crossing swords once again but i'm sure it wont be to long before you are once again looking up at the bluebirds.
Are you for real? You actually spent time writing that? Qpr ran away with the league the year we got promoted, and we played two very good sides in the play offs to reach the pl. Something you haven't been able to do in how many attempts? So, if we were average, you must have been ****. We survived in our first year because we were better than the teams that usually finish down the bottom of the table and had some good wins against the big boys. Yes, we have strengthened, at little cost and are now sitting pretty in the top half of the pl, with one of the greatest players ever as our manager. We do not think we are world beaters, so **** knows where you got that information from. Seems to me your very jealous that we get plaudits week in week out. Ohhh, and we drew with Norwich, yes. A premier league team. How did you get on at Peterborough and Watford......championship teams. Now piss off.
Given Mackay's patchy record when spending larger amounts even chucking £20-30m at that Cardiff side may not be enough. If Frazer Campbell is the answer I shudder to think what the question is. As things stand, three up three down looks highly likely next season.
