North Korea has 8 nukes (est). Pretty wimpy nukes at that. Its far from enough to end the world. They couldn't accurately hit the EU or US with them so no one on this forum need worry about that. Likely if war breaks out millions of Koreans will die. Thousands of Americans will die... and dozens of other nationalities will die. The world will go into a big recession... The US wouldn't risk angering the world by responding with nukes... even if that is their doctrine. They have more than enough conventional weaponry. Besides... the more the US destroys the north the more they will pay rebuilding it. The majority of the war would be over in weeks but we will be stuck dealing with the remnants for years. It would be far from end of the world. China would be the only problem... and they're unlikely to get involved unless the west starts the war... and they won't because of the devastation that would be caused to S.K a major trading partner. Also the US wouldn't want to piss China off by starting a war on their mentally disturbed kid brother. Despite the rhetoric, no one wants war... so it will only happen if someone panics and mistakes a move from the other. Since the two Korea's have most to lose... it would almost certainly be one of them to fire the first shot. In a completely selfish way... Id rather we fight the war now than in a decade from now when my son will be of drafting age. Not a fan of Obama but I bet Romney would have done something stupid by now if he were prez. How long has it been since the us last had a president that did not lead the country into a conflict? Think Obama is first in my lifetime... and he still had several years to go.
