One for me tonight in the shape of 7.10 Thurles Scouting Party 9/1. He ran an absolute blinder on his first start for more than a year over 3m at Limerick last month when an 8L beaten 4th in a first time tongue tie on his stable debut for Gillian O'Callaghan. He understandably got tired late on if coming on for that run I think he's got an excellent chance of landing this tonight. The excellent Keith Donoghue takes a handy 3lb off and this is a very poor contest. At a track where the trainer is 2-5, Scouting Party should definitely appreciate the better surface and I think he could take quite a bit of beating tonight.
Thats it from me for now, will try to get back on later tonight... Well done the winners today, few and far between... Tomorrows another day...
Not the worst day ever for me despite my boy getting done in the battle. A 33-1 second, a 20-1 fourth and in the bookies had small EW bets on Battle Group and Helium on my way home.
8.55 Wolverhampton Russian Bullet 5/2 Hasnt won in 16 so cant be too confident however he has dropped to a very nice mark, 7lbs below his last winning mark and has the very promising Robert Tart on board taking off another 5lbs. He has ran well to finish third the last twice and now dropped back down to the minimum trip on a surface he handles i think today could well be the day he gets his nose back in front
Wow ROTO absolutely amazing! Terrible day for me(as per my selections earlier) but that has saved me at least some of my dosh! Thank you
Just got back from a freezing Aintree. Had a major dabble on The New One and he lost nothing in defeat. Captain Conan saved my day. Frustrated that horses I had backed several times in the past (L'Unique, Battle Group) came good today when I wasn't on, and kicking myself for not backing First Lieutenant over 3m1f on good ground. An enjoyable day and I got a foto of myself standing next to bechers but by god it was fooooking cold.
