RTP not if we stay up WHEN we stay up. But as said before, it ain't about the strikers, its about creativity from midfield and the wingers. As I think you said elsewhere, Walters is NOT a useless player, used properly, he scores some cracking goals, not regularly enough, but playing out of position he really does not have much of a chance, and all supporters need a whipping boy. I think it has been commented on in the past, that we could have RVP etc upfront but we wouldnt score goals becasue of the lack of opportunities we create. That then highlights the next issue, that when you generally only create 4 or 5 oportunities a game you have to be really clinical - which we are not. In relation to Walters, I agree that he is played out of position at times (I.e not on the bench - only joking) but he did play wide right at CP. I would argue he is not a striker and I think to be fair to him he is a rotation player at best. Back to the question, Bent would be able to run off the defence unlike Crouch but he isnt a traget man, so would that mean that TP wouldnt sign him or another like him? I would say not.
If Pulis is still in charge, as StokieLad says, there would be no point in signing Bent. Currently in the PL, the best striker (that would suit us) I think is Andy Carroll. But that's a non starter really, £17m, and we've already got Crouch and Jones (who have no re-sale value). But if things change, and we have a more positive manager, Bent would be great for us, but Owen probably would be too. . .
Pott's here guys I still can't log in is it something to do with that Malware virus? Anyway I've decided that from now on in I'm going to stay POSITIVE and SOD IT! I also think that Jerome and Jones up front work well when Pulis has gone for it! Again, it must be worth a try on Saturday?
