Anybody else getting annoyed at how many adverts are on the big screen? They take up far too much time on there, and the information about the match like how much time's left never gets shown. Surely, we didn't buy a scoreboard for those purposes.
It is slightly annoying, they should only be up once or twice a half and for a tiny amount of time, not for the majority of the Match and for 5-10 mins a go.
I was going to suggest at the next FLAG meeting, that if the club want non stop adverts on the big screen, then they needed to buy a big clock.
Yes, I was thinking it the other night too. If they want continued adverts can they not split the screen in two, so the teams are on one half and adverts on the other? There's time when I want to look at who someone on the opposition is and can't for ages because of the adverts. Obviously we need adverts but it's gone too far.
I'm glad I'm not the only one - constant source of annoyance when things are getting tense and you want to know just how long there is to go. Surely it wouldn't be too difficult to arrange for the time to be shown constantly in the corner of the screen regardless of whatever else was being shown.
Can't the adverts be put on the electronic advertising hoardings the club said we were getting instead?
The subs sponsor thing makes me laugh as well , announcing the sponsors name at every substitution , just tell us who is going off and who is coming on ffs
There already is one, at the back of the North stand between the police box and the NE corner. Never get's used though, I think it might belong to Hull FC as it's only used for their games and the exact same clock is at every rugby league ground.
Yep. "Coming off, sponsored by Adidas number 11 Jay Simpson, being replaced by sponsored by blah blah blah number 33 Nick Proschwitz" every time gets really annoying!
I can understand it with the subs though, if they didn't announce it then then the sponsors would never get any exposure, and when money for things like sponsorship is tight then the club need to give as much as possible.
I've never really understood the sponsorship thing, especially of the players. I get that it's to do with "brand exposure" but honestly, who has started going to Cash Converters more/at all since they started sponsoring us? I'd wager that NOONE is influenced by whoever the hell sponsors each individual player. So what do they get out of it?
The irritating thing about the substitution sponsor, is that it's so bloody long, 'Sponsored by Hull Volkswagen Van and Car blah, blah, blah.....' they should have a three word limit. Three are three announcements you can sponsor, the first is obviously the substitutions, the second is the match attendance announcement and the third is the extra time announcement. I'm not sure that latter two work all that well, as I can't actually remember who sponsors them. The cheapest of these three is £1500 a season, so we hardly make a fortune out of them.
The same as any advert works, you may not consciously take any notice of it but these things store in your sub conscious mind and can influence you whether you know it or not.
The match day experience is spoilt more by whinging, negative morons and the lack of atmosphere caused by people who think that they should only make a noise once a goal is scored and up to then they will sit in silence.
Most do it because they are fans and nothing more, it's not much money really and you get to support your club, meet a player, get a framed shirt for the office...etc, that for most people is enough.
