They had one shot. It's easy to go all apocalyptic after a loss but look back at the game you watched. We created far more than them. Except we had a lot more than one chance at those places, and outplayed them in both games.
Watford were better than us. They came with a game plan and stopped us going forward in the first half. It was basically what we do to teams when we go away from home. And it was effective. We didn't win a second ball in the first half and allowed them to dominate midfield. We seemed scared to get stuck in, and it was only a matter of time before they scored. Although, our line up didn't help and was a bizarre choice, & one i don;t want to see again. Our passing was awful first half and there was nothing upfront. If we did actually get a shot on goal their keeper dealt with it. We can't beat the better teams, which doesn't look good for the playoffs if we end up in them. I think we'll be up against it in the up coming matches v Ipswich, Wolves and Barnsley. If we get anything from them it'll be fantastic. Especially if we play like we did in the first half. Also, how many more ****ing injuries are we going to get? Hope there's nowt wrong with Hobbs. Faye was my MOTM. Anyone hear his interview afterwards? Must've said you know 100 times.
Not here to gloat, as tonight was a tough match. You have a very decent team that is hard to beat and it's clear why you are at the top. We needed the win more perhaps, as a defeat would have ended any chance we had to going up automatically.....and believe me, we want that just as bad as you. The run-in is going to continue like this. We will drop points, so will Cardiff and yourselves. It's whoever can keep their nerve in the final 6 matches. You still have that precious 1 point lead over us. Whatever happens, I wish you good luck and hope you gain promotion......along with us of course.
I think you lot have been very gracious. I don't know why there's so much animosity towards you. The usual Udinese B team crap bores the **** out of me. Mind you it's peddled by the usual boring twats. You were generally the better team tonight.
Hull City supporters are what I call proper football fans. Your history is similar to ours, whereas as you've had a lot of lower league football but appreciate the good times when it comes along without delusions of grandeur. I think this season is a victory for the smaller club....and that's meaning disrespect to you....but it's good to see Hull, Cardiff and Watford sitting at the top, while the likes of Leeds, Leicester, Wolves etc are way behind. The Udinese tag is fine.....we've just found a way to compete and it's doing us fine. We know our place in the grand scheme of things, but it's just nice to get some glory every now and again. Football would be boring if the big, powerful clubs had their way all the time.
There was another 'Watford Gap' in evidence last night. I had the BBC text feed up on screen and listened to the 5Live commentary. They just didn't match up. The commentators (inc. Savage) were so pro-Watford, you'd think they were watching a different match (from that on the text-feed)!
I must have been listening to a different 5Live broadcast to everyone else, either that or I wasn't looking for something that wasn't there. First half they were saying how we started the better, but in the last 30 mins of the half Watford were the better team. That seems to be the opinion of people who were there. At half time they were saying that we would need to improve in the second half. In the second half they were saying that we were the better team but that we lacked that cutting edge. That's hardly controversial - scoring goals has been an issue for us all season. I had no issue with either of the commentators last night. There is no BBC conspiracy against us!
Credit to Watford last night, they deserved the win and beat us at our own game. The fight for 2nd is over yet. It's not the end of the world though chaps, it is still in our hands at the moment and come Saturday night our grip on 2nd could be stronger once again. We respond well to poor results so hopefully we'll get a positive result against Boro. Brucie got it wrong last night, I think he knows that given the subs he made last night and hopefully he'll make said changes on Saturday. Disappointed with some of the crowd last night, for such a big game they got on the players backs far too quickly last night.
I actually think those games will suit us to be fair. One of the best things we've had in the last few weeks is the way in which we can grind and battle out a result away from home against sides lower in the table like Huddersfield and Burnley.
You're right but City fans have a thing about poor sides who win a couple of games and then we start bigging them up to be something amazing. We'll be fine against those teams.
As Hornetto says, Watford had to win or they were done for automatic. In saying that our run in is better than the Hornets one. By 8pm saturday night Hull City could have the 4 point Gap back. Then both clubs have 2 away games to handle. Ipswich and Wolves for the Tigers and Peterboro and Millwall for Watford. I know which 2 i prefer tio have......Ours.!!!
Savage once effectively said (in BBC-friendly language) that the majority of Watford fans are scum who derive pleasure from people breaking their legs. Since then he has been surprisingly even-handed when talking about our team.
Fitz Hall who limped out of tuesdays game with Hull City looks like missing the Cardiff game on saturday. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21979607
Totally agree, as I believe it was a very good commentary. What was disgraceful was the utter bile and childish nonsense posted on the match-thread by Hull city fans.
