The last 48 hours has brought me to a very sad conclusion that I can not long feel pride in my beloved club any more. I know that this is not a view shared by the majority but until PDC makes a clear statement to distance himself from fascist beliefs and not just racism I will not be back on these boards.

There is far to much anger and hate in here. Which is exactly how fascists spread their evil messages.

I am sad to leave and hope that I have been a reasonable poster in my time. I would like to thank all of you who supported my son on his bike ride to Berlin.

A sad day but you have to stand by what you believe.

I respect your stance and I too would like to hear PDC say - 'I'm not a fascist or a racist', however there was a racism incident at Swindon not long ago. I won't walk away personally, but neither will I give Di Canio a clean slate and say - 'that's OK you didn't mean it, that's all in the past'.

It is * ALL ABOUT THE FUTBA' * however and I trust it stays that way regarding negative or embarrassing publicity that will mire, stain or taint our beloved club. Paulo may still harbour fascist sentiments for all I care, he had better keep his ****ing gob shut as it's * ALL ABOUT THE FUTBA' *

    /my 2 cents

Its a shame Washy, and I respect your stance. All I would say is...SAFC will still be here long after PDC...these group of players...These directors and this owner have long gone. We the fans..are here for life mate. This is our city and our club. No political stance from anyone involved temporarily with this club will ever change that. For us its a life sentence.

Are all communists looking to bring down the western world? Or are some of them just farmers? Mate, you are a hypocrite discriminating somebody on their political views. You're demonstrating the ideals you claim to hate, Someone has different views and up bringing to yourself so it's them or you. Sad day for yourself. Besides which, this club is bigger than any owner, manger, player or fan.

laters. good luck with your fund raising.

Bye washy. You obviously don't love Sunderland as you state as letting politics get in the way of a football club - I support Sunderland and, regardless of the manager or owner or anyone elses beliefs (Political/Sexual or otherwise) I will kepp on supporting Sunderland and I will follow the club no matter what - I am quite excited having heard Paolo speak

Shameless - sad reality is that the PRESS will try to ensure it does not stay "ALL ABOUT THE FOOTBA" and they will try to add a few sly little digs in to stir the ****!

I really cant get my head around why some poeple are getting all ****ed up on this at all?

My political stance in very much left of centre but by no means extremist. However, if Di Canio was a paid up member of the communist Party; The Tory Party or UKIP it would make no difference to me at all. The fact is he is not a paid up member of ANY party but has right wing political views? So ****ing what?

Is the left wing of British politics now saying unless you have the same political views as us we wont support you? As for that utter ****ing moron from the NUM David 'thick as mince' Hopper spouting his usual lefty ****e (the same extreme communist ****e that gave us a right wing goverment under the whore Thatcher and the muppet Major for 18 years) he can take his flag and wedge it up his fat arse.

All my family come from mining stock and my grandad died with lung disease from 40 years under the ground so dont tell me I have no right to talk this way.

PDC is the manager of a ****ing football club FFS, not standing for election and the attention seeking whores that are infesting the media at the moment, looking for their 15 mins in the spotlight, can go an **** right off as well.

Anyone fortunate to listen to the voice of reason on Talk Sport this morning, Clarke Carlisle, will have ehard a very articulate black man defend Di Canio and offer a proper perspective on the whole media circus. He rightly pointed a finger at David 'look at me, look at me' Milliband for stirring up a hornets nest that doesnt exist (for his own ends) and called for some rationale on this story.

This whole thing is boiling my piss to explosion levels now.

Get a ****ing grip on reality everyone FFS.

I fiond that stance far more worrying than Paulo Di Canios stance to be honest.

    Aye, Tara mate.

I'm sure that all of us evil Mackams that are still behind the club will get our comeuppance at Di Canio's first home game in charge, when he comes storming out of the tunnel followed by an army of red & white striped daleks that will burn us all to death in the stands with flamethrowers.

Cant agree more, it is media desperate for an emotional story they can blow out of proportion and fill some pages up.
We all have a right to our views and should be left alone with them unless we act upon them inappropriately. There are a number of self righteous prigs out there, but the vast majority of our supporters just want to get on with the game and back our team.

i find the media will always jump on any bandwagon to stir things up and i find it very stange that pdc has been in football for so many years and this problem has only just occurred it seems very convenient to say the least but its making me more determined to support him and ellis short.

Black fox has the hit the nail on the head - why has this story hit the headlines in such a fashion? Are we really that short of news stories when we look at what is happening across the UK? Milliband kicked this off with his resignation - was he not going anyway to a new job in NY? What did he actually do for the club? Did anyone kick off the same about his political views when he was appointed? PDC's alleged comments were made in 2005 - why has it taken 8 years for this to blow up in this manner? He was hardly the invisible man. All these resignations - catch a grip when you don't know anything about the man. Racist? Would he be a racist if some of his best friends are Chris Powell and Trevor Sinclair. And I think the same applies to his alleged fascism - look at the comments he has made not the images you react in a knee jerk fashion to.

You shouldn't go Washy. Cest has said it all already, so I won't repeat it all again, but just because some on the left can't tolerate any views right of centre doesn't mean we should be ashamed at appointing PDC. My dad lost three uncles in the war and his dad was on the arctic convoys to Russia and he doesn't give a **** about PDC's politics even if he IS a fascist. His view is that fascism is a political philosphy and subscribing to it doesn't mean you immediately set up camps and start rounding people up, like the nazis did. He knows plenty of Italian fascists from his work in Italy and they're all perfectly normal people with not a racist bone in their body. They just think that Italy needs a strong leader to kick it up the arse, but not one with all the baggage from the Mussolini era. Dad also know loads of communists and they are exactly the same as the fascists. They just think it should be "the Party" doing the arse-kicking! The old man says that the right and left in Italy tend to have polar opposite views, but are all prefectly reasonable about it, as long as you don't get them in the same room at the same time :)

Washy..I feel you are more the victim of this media witch hunt than anything else..Why not just judge the bloke on his words and actions rather than the cherry picked snippets which this has all been based around..
