Faye beast Boyd Simmo Worst game chezzy s ever had FACT Vaughan is *** end mark 2 a horrible **** Thought it was a day to stand up and be a man, full marks to Meyler Hobbs and Alex Bruce on that score.
1 - Faye, massive performance at the back, it will be a shame for him if we do go up because I think that'd be it for him at city, which when you consider some of the performances he's put in this season, incl scoring at Leeds, is pretty sad that he'd just be a one season player. 2 - Simpson, was going to put Boyd at 2 as he was class, but Simpson did so much work for the team that often goes unnoticed holding the ball up and providing a solid outlet was great, and the throughball for the goal was a beauty. 3 - Evans. Boyd misses out on 3 scanadlously too.....but for that block alone Evans makes it into my top 3, lots of people have used the phrase 'season defining moment', and whilst that phrase will be uttered a few times there is no denying that that block earned us 2 points which at a crucial time gives us a critical gap down to 3rd and also keeps us within sight of 1st, keeping Cardiff nervous too.
Bit harsh on Chester he didn't miss a tackle apart from the first ten minutes. Agreed probably the worst of our centre halves but i have seen him have far worse games. Agree on Meyler standing up to them though, you could tell Clarke was just egging him on all game. By the way did anyone else see Clarke stamp on Stockdale to stop him getting up?
Simpson Boyd Faye Great to see Simpson play like that, trying to make runs behind, actively trying to get in goalscoring positions, but still playing the same team game we've got used to from him. I'd like to see him play again, he was unlucky that the service to him wasn't spot on because he was getting in positions to score a sack full. Boyd had a shave which is worthy of 2nd. Faye is a tank.
Agreed, but i'd take seven 1-0s till the end of the season. And i'm sure everyone else would as well. Performances at this stage are a bonus. We were clinical on saturday and defended resolutely. Think we'll miss Meyler vs Watford, and i dunno how Faye will cope with 2 matches back to back in short succession, espcially when Vydra will be a bigger test than Beckford.
I have serious doubts about Faye playing 2 so close to each other just because it's been so long since he last played.
Final result: Boyd Faye Simpson The top end of the table is: Quinn 32 Chester 24 Aluko, McShane 23 Elmohammady 20 Brady 18 Faye 16 Simpson, Boyd 14 Evans 11 Gedo 10
