Fair play to the lad for saying sorry for his display and giving away tickets to the players lounge to meet him in person. He's seriously gone up in my estimation.

I am sure he is gutted, poor man. The penalty was 'fine', they happen. The second was inexcusable.

If there is any good news from this disappointment, it is that they will put on a huge display against Wigan.

Whilst the fat lady may be warming up, she is NOT singing yet.

I actually think that the penalty contributed the second goal.

    How?

There is no way that he wanted to make an error. He was trying to be careful, trying to make an accurate pass and not just hoof it up the field. He wanted to do something more positive than just an aimless hoof. I'm sure in the back of his mind he was trying to make up for the penalty (which was not malicious and purely accidental as he didn't see the player coming behind him.)

Of course he was wrong. Should have just hoofed it, but didn't and it cost us dearly.

That's the way i saw it ... I think we are still showing this league that we can play a bit going forward. Another bad day but I am still optimistic that we will win points away from home at Everton, Reading and Liverpool

I still think we can win at Reading and at home against Wigan, Stoke and Toon. It's getting the other couple of points that looks a real worry to me.
