Chill out lady and gentlemen, all that high expectation has not been good for the soul. We lead hectic and stressful lives, football is meant to be entertainment and a past time, not matter of life or death (no matter what Shankly said) so be at peace. Like Moses we spent years in the wilderness looking for the promised land and found out that once we got there is was crap. Let us return to our homeland and be joyous!! Two years of utter dross will soon be at an end and our journey back to mediocrity will soon be a reality. Let us all rejoice!! I've been chilled out since we only managed a draw against Norwich at home and the realisation came upon me, like witnessing a burning bush, that we were not where we should be and going back to our roots was the only salvation. The players, managers and owners will all come and go but us fans will endure. Be it in the Premiership or Blue Square Conference our hearts will belong to QPR. So it is written and so shall it be. In the meantime, kick up your heels and chill. It's all good.
I admire your sentiment Grove. Maybe as a club we have lost our soul all getting carried away with the premiership and big money signings. I have to admit I was drawn in. Maybe just maybe a return to the championship a few years of consolidation and we may come again. For me watching a cohesive team performance for 90 minutes in whatever division we are in is the goal. If there are young hungry players who make you proud to be a hoop then all the better.
Agree and it's no problem where QPR play to me ... but I still see it this way: We have 7 matches of football to play and we need to win them. I cannot understand how any QPR fan can give up all the time there is still a chance ... Football is a crazy game and if we need to go to Anfield on the last Sunday needing to win by 3 then so be it. I am enjoying every minute of it and there is still 18% of the season left to enjoy ... only then should we debate what to do next. I just can't quit my team and hope on here we back them to the end.
If every team has a league that is their rightful place then we might as well give up now. If the human condition was to accept your lot and never strive for anything better then my official response would be ug and maybe a wave of a stick to keep you away from my cave. It's the desire to better ourselves and see others do the same that makes life interesting. The highs and lows are part and parcel of that. What chance do we have? Precious little. But while it is anything more than zero, I will keep that glowing ember of hope no matter how deluded it may seem.
no one i think is giving up yet but to think that most people are enjoying this is way off the mark, no one could have enjoyed this season apart from one result!
I have not given up yet. Far from it. And actually following QPR has been as unpredictable and exciting as usual but I do believe we may have lost ourselves a bit chasing the dream.
We're lucky. we have a dream, which is more than simple survival at whatever level. And we'll have it no matter where the next 7 results take us. A competitive premiership team is what we deserve, one that entertains and surprises. We'll have it soon (in the context of my 42 years following the Rs). In the words of Derek Smalls of Spinal Tap after the band has broken up and they are planning solo projects: "People should envy us.......I envy us"
Well I feel a bit better this morning. My BBC predictor (don't laugh please) had us on 37 points but assumed a draw last night. The good news is that with 36 points we still stay up on goal average from Villa and a clear point above Villa. Reading are bottom. If anyone is interested the wins will come at home to Wigan, Stoke and Newcastle and away at Reading with losses at Everton and Liverpool and a draw at home to Arsenal. Piece of cake.
Now I know how King Canute must have felt!! Despite the tide creeping ever further he still thought it would turn away. Much the same as many QPR Not606ers thinking we are going to win enough matches to stay up. And before anyone does the old Q.I. bit I know the whole controlling the tides myth was misinterpreted. And that he was Cnut not Canute.
I dont think its over just yet. Much as people (myself included) have tagged QPR for relegation for much of the season, you have the ability, and the previous experience to get out of this. Most importantly you have goals in the side now, and remy and townsend look great signings. Watching your game last night it was very refreshing to see a team going for it away from home, something norwich seem woefully incapable of doing at the moment. A lot is said about this stage of the relegation battle being about emotion, and in harry i think you have the riggt man to inspire some belief and shock results. Also please don't take this for a wum, its not. You are playing good football, and regardless of all our personal views on the business side of the game, ultimately a club should be judged on the entertainment it puts out on the field of play. Good luck and keep your spirits up, forget points totals, just pin wigan to the floor and reel them in next game.
Bingo! It's been bloody torture. Due to work commitments, last night is possibly my last game this season! What a pile of **** to sign off with!
After every game recently, my despair eventualluy turns into "we can still do this". After last nights first half performance though I dont know if I can keep those thoughts up. But it is right that we are not down yet, it needs a miracle. Moving back to Grove's fine words, I agree totally. If we do go down there are some positives: Cheaper tickets (hopefully), less moving of games to stupid times, less "plastic fans and tourists ala The Cottage yesterday. Just chill out and look forward to next season, whatever it brings, and go for as many points as we can to the end of the season. One thing we shouldnt forget is that our support has been immense, particularly away from home. There are few teams in the prem who can match it. Its just such a shame that the majority of our team didnt acknowledge us after the final whistle last night. Bosingwa almost galloped off the pitch. Our support of the team was inspiring. Keep it up.

Interestingly, if by some miracle we are to survive, we will be relying on Norwich for a favour or two ie Norwich v Reading and Villa!! Both home games for you in which we will all be Norwich fans - even Rangercol!!!!!
