Not had a proper look at the cards yet, But will put FAIRY WING up again in the 4.50 Southwell, should complete the hat trick of wins there today and is goof value to me at 7/2
Do you guys think that Oscar Whiskys performance at the festival was so bad, that it probably wasn't a case off him not staying? I'm not saying he does stay 3 miles, but he did finish 4th in the race last year, and runner up in the Cleeve. So he isn't completely useless over 3 miles. I don't think he was right at Cheltenham, and that's why Geraghty has gone for Grandouet, because if OW is at his best he will be very difficult to beat at Aintree
7/2 now Quarl. My biggest worry would be that the yard do leave their money behind on occasion. Still gutted about Ben Cee Pee M yesterday.
I felt something was amiss. Regardless of staying 3mile he was never going at all thru the race and just looked very flat. I will be suprised if he wins at Aintree that's why I am backing The New One.
Jockey cost us yesterday Bob, should have won by a couple of lengths! You are right about the Hill yard too, shrewd but sometimes think they are better than they really are!
Not really studied the form properly yet, so not sure what il be backing. Although The New One was impressive at Cheltenham, it's a massive step up in class taking on experienced hurdles, so soon after a hard race at the festival. I'm not saying he can't do it, but I'd question the decision to put him in such a hot race so soon. It could potentially wreck the horses confidence
Certainly won't be easy but I'll take a chance with him. I like Oscar Whiskey but very off put by that Chelt run. Should be a cracking little race , one to really look forward too.
Morning chaps I have Quarl Ego in my tracker, but unfortunately it doesn't advise the day before, so 4's is the best I can get! That said, Sandy's Double was very eyecatching LTO - I might have to do what Bob suggests - a cheeky RFC. I'll take the advice about Henry King, ROTO - but I'm very interested also in Xaarcet, back up in trip and a C&D winner. Might be a DAY of RFC

He didn't have a hard race at Cheltenham, won as he liked. Drying ground would be more of a worry as I think he is at his best on soft.
Watering the track so hopefully it can become good to soft because the forecast is dry all week I think.
Absoloute joke of a price. He beat Rule Of The World over 2m5f at Cheltenham and he is fav to beat Grandouet over 2m4f at Aintree thanks for the money bookies. GRANDOUET will win
Are they running Ben again soon Stick. I still remember the last time we all gambled him off the boards to victory. Surprised me they didn't have Leighton up top. The New One is favourite. That's daft.
Agree RV. I was just about to post Grandouet has the best chance and is tremendous value at 9/2. I'll be betting like a man.
We must all be psychic - I was just watching the replay of the 4YO hurdle at Aintree 2 years ago when Pawali fell and bought down a well-travelling Grandouet. I think he might well have beaten Zarkandar that day and on their run in the International you'd have to say Grandouet should be favourite for the race. Assuming he is none the worse for the fall you could say Cheltenham was an ideal prep for this race.
Looking at the prices it's hard to knock Oscar Whisky at 6/1, it usually pays to forgive a horse a bad run, and if he can recapture his best form in a race he's won the last 2 years, then he will take all the beating. Grandouet is the main danger for me. Zarkander is a plodder, whilst I feel connections of The New One will get a serious reality check
What reality check would it be though if he did lose? Unless he's beaten out of sight, which is very unlikely unless he's knackered himself in the Neptune, what harm is done? It'll give them a great stick to judge what they have. Quarl into 5/2.
Nice picks Heis - just to bring your mood down a bit - I'm on all those as well Soup, cheese and crackers Oh - and me last hot cross bun
The horse is a novice, and there is a race over the same trip for novices. They obviously think he's very good, that's why they've put him in the race. I just don't think he's going to perform aswell as connections will be hoping for. After all it's not like he's unbeaten this season. It would be alot better in the long run for the horses confidence if they stuck to novices this season and worried about the big boys next season
