Ok give me a break...it was years ago now lol. Anyway if you can close the gap on us to 4 points again I will be delighted.

We have almost shaken off Palace, its this damned ellusive Watford we need to get rid of now.

i really want us to stop talking about cardiff and league winners... we'll see if a win on the last day can make us champions but automatic spot is the ONLY thing that matters.

People talk about a cardiff blip would "free up an other promotion place" but that just isn't going to happen. why?
because need them to win against watford. If they do so they will potentially 7,8 or 10 points in front of us (depending on our result vs watford) with 6 games left.

They will pretty much need to lose at least 4 or 5 of these (because we ain't gonna win all our remaining games) to seriously open up another spot. And that is NOT gonna happen.

I really don't want there to be anything to play for on the last other than determining 1st and 2nd. Actually I'd rather they be champions by then and give us an easy game.

I actually think that before we play them, our fate will be sealed. So really we should stop mentioning them. Just like we should stop mentioning the likes of lester who are no longer rivals.

The point is the two games against Watford are crucial to us both, if Watford were in second I would be posting on their board as you can appreciate. Of course we don`t really care about each other but when we are in the same boat we can hope we both paddle as hard as each other.

Before today we had won just two out of the last 7 games but today they pulled out a performance, you know your side can pull out a good performance. Even if we both draw with them that wont help them at all but it will help us run the games down.

We haven't done very well against the top sides this season.

But when the chips are down, I think we have the mental edge over anyone.

They can't be relishing a trip here 4 points adrift against a team that's beaten them there, a team that can win ugly and a team who are holding a loaded gun against their sweating temple.

Can anyone confirm the rumour that Elton John has hired the function room at the Polar Bear on Tuesday?

If the referee on Saturday sends another two Watford players off, and makes another bizarre penalty decision, Cardiff might end up leaving the Championship by the other exit. And if he doesn't, that match could go either way.

Tomorrow is just huge though. It's not *quite* win or bust for either team: a draw doesn't kill the race off completely, and if we win you still have an extra point on the board.

But if we lose, it's over without question. Even if I believed that we could get 18 points from our games against Cardiff, Posh, Millwall, Chicken Feed, Obese Kid's Feed and Leeds, I'm not sure that would be enough to overhaul you from seven points behind, with the high you'd be on from beating your main competition for 2nd.

The chances of a full house went out of the window when the match was switched to a Tuesday night.
If we had played this afternoon when we had the city to ourselves and everyone is off work, pissed off, with nothing to do, then yes we might have got over 20,000 with walk-ups encouraged.
Even Watford have had to give free coach travel to their fans to get them to travel on a Tuesday night, Watford from the affluent south travelling on freebies, which is a sign of the times.
Listened to radio Humberside virtually all day today and we hardly got a mention. Yet they are running trailers to encourage people to turn out to support non league Grimsby, who could be playing North Ferriby in twelve months time.
When I would have thought the local BBC radio station would have been bigging the game up all day, like they do the eggchasing derby.
The local HDM briefly mentioned that Steve Bruce hopes we get a good gate for the match when they should have been calling for it themselves all over the front pages. Its the biggest game this city has seen since the Premiership.
But don't come on here at a minute after the final whistle tomorrow whinging about the atmosphere or that someone stood up in front of you and so on.
Get yourselves there, take a mate, take the kids and make a noise. Support the team.
The KC needs to be rocking tomorrow night.
So do your bit towards it.

You are dead right. We need to beat Watford, we need you to beat them as well. That should secure auto promotion for both of us (though I suspect you are already there).

my glass is always half empty I am afraid but I think Ipswich, Wolves and Barnsley will be the hardest away games of our season so I personally hope that we can get as much in the bag tomorrow and saturday as possible.

I still cannot believe that i still hear the Murdoch League 'Snouts-in-the-trough' ex-pros calling the prtemiership "the best league in the world"???

When an annual train ticket to central London, where a lot of people work, costs more than £2,750, free travel all the way to Hull suddenly seems like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us affluent types.

In this crazy Championship season I can see the season being dragged out to the final match of the season and a three horse race for automatics between Hull, Cardiff and Watford.

For this to happen Watford will have to their next two games but I believe this will happen. The Hull v Cardiff match could turn out to be a real cracker, where the winner goes up and the loser is in the playoffs.

Personally I think these three will go up regardless.

Possible, but I can't see the top 2 not being already confirmed by May 4th.

    Saying that...

My opinions on the effects of tomorrows result:

Hull win: we'll finish top 2.
Draw: It'll go the 44th game.
Watford win: It'll go to the final day.
