Which of our squad THIS season (including past and present loans) would you give these awards.... Most improved? Most consistent? Most entertaining? Most valuable (in terms of ££)? Hottest prospect? Worst first team regular? and finally, who is your player of the season?

Most improved? - Smith Most consistent? - Chambers Most entertaining? - DJ "he scores with his hands" Campbell (for me JET has been far from entertaining for the majority of the season) Most valuable (in terms of ££)? - maybe JET Hottest prospect? Hewitt Worst first team regular? Edwards and finally, who is your player of the season? Tommy Smith, wasn't impressed with him last season and the start of this season - but since Mick arrived Tommy has totally transformed

Love this one...is he having a laugh or wot!? I didnt think I could get to many games and actually see the action, but this..! But Loach - when played and why dropped? - has improved and agree here...but most improved gotta be Smithy.
Most improved? Tommy Most consistent? Hyam (maybe not played too much but does his job well) Most entertaining? DJ Most valuable (in terms of ££)? DJ Hottest prospect? Hewitt Worst first team regular? Martin (could easily go to Edwards but at least he's scored a vital goal) and finally, who is your player of the season? Tommy Smith, a valuable player to us now.
Looks like everyone is agreed about Smith being our player of the season, football really is a funny game considering most of us were ready to write him off last season!
Most improved: Smith Most Consistent: Cresswell Most Entertaining: JET Most Valuable: Cresswell Hottest Prospect: Hewitt Worst First team regular: Edwards
Most improved: Chambers Most Consistent: Hyam Most Entertaining: Big Mick Most Valuable: Big Mick Hottest Prospect: Hewitt Worst First team regular: Edwards
most improved: Smith most consistent: Smtih most entertaining: JET most valuable: Hyam (in a couple of years, cresswell now). hottest prospect: hewitt worst first team regular: edwards (do see his value though, however hypocritical that is!)
Yep, hence not improved as much as others think. He was playing in a disorganised defence but his world beating performances for NZ and his ability was clear which is why I was just about the only one not writing him off!
I think there were a few others not writing him off aswell Lancs!! Tractorbhoy included, speaking of which he hasn't been on here for weeks, anyone know what's happened to him?
Just to jump in and say that I never wrote him off... <jumpingtomyowndefence> I went to Uni with a lad who played alongside him when they were both at Macc Town and we always agreed that his youth would mean he would improve and was certainly worth keeping as he has a good temperament and work ethic. Back on topic: (agree mainly with ptc) Most improved: Smith Most Consistent: Cresswell Most Entertaining: JET Most Valuable: JET Hottest Prospect: Hewitt Worst First team regular: Edwards/Martin Most Underrated: Murphy (I am beginning to see his use to the squad and take back a lot of my previous criticisms)
KoPR - you thought he would improve because of his youth... did he really improve that much suddenly within a couple of months? Or was it Mick sorting the defence out... hmmm.
My point being you couldn't write off a 21 year old centre half (who had already shown a lot of promise) as not good enough, and that in reality how many centre halfs hit even near there best form until they are in the late 20's? Mick has clearly sorted us out defensively beyond all recognition and in Tommy's case his improvements have been by giving him the confidence that he was lacking and cut out a lot of the unnecessary errors. The fact that as a unit we defend a lot better has obviously meant that Tommy has been able to concentrate on his own task of winning aerial battles and have confidence in those around him backing him up which was clearly not there under PJ as we were so vulnerable all over the park. Tommy's improvements have been quite impressive but the point I was making is that there was always a good player there, just with Mick in charge we are beginning to see a more rounded player from the inconsistent one of previous years, and that can be said for all of our defensive players, not least Chambers who has also become far more resolute in a short space of time.
