The League Cup is won. Survival is pretty much guaranteed. Our league position probably won't change dramatically. The season feels like it's over and nobody can be bothered with anything.
Doesn't seem like theirs much point in playing, does there, but we did this last season under Rodgers, shame we are going out on a whimper!.........
I cant beleive Aswan has posted content related to football on here !!... Welcome to the forum Aswan Not a sarcastic comment anywhere near either
Laudrup might want to give a few fringe players a run in the side to see whether they need to be replaced in the summer. The Europa League can be a very long competition and it's pretty draining. Pick some people with a point to prove and let them know that they're playing for their futures.
I think the game will be massive for both teams, Laudrup will want to stop the slide and you need a win to stay safe! i would be very happy with a point. even though you have beaten us consistantly the games have been quite close, i expect it to be no different this time around
If some of the 1st team players don't start wising up, they might also be shown the door. One or two have the 'big time charlie' attitude about them at the moment.
Dutch international midfielder Jonathan de Guzman’s future as a Premier League player is still up for grabs as Swansea are set to see a familiar foe engage in battle for the player’s signature with Brendan Rodgers poised to enter the running. De Guzman, who has barely put a foot wrong in Swansea during his season long loan spell from parent club Villarreal, is believed to be up for grabs for 5 million pounds, and Liverpool are hoping to tempt the player to move to Anfield instead of committing himself to the Swans. De Guzman meanwhile is prioritizing regular first team action as he attempts to play himself back in the reckoning for a national team berth, but might see it easier to be noticed if playing for a higher profile club like Liverpool. Swansea though as a result of their Capital One Cup win earlier this season are certain to be playing in Europe next year, a luxury Liverpool look unlikely to enjoy. De Guzman himself meanwhile opted not to get overly engaged in the discussion, telling NU Sport, “I just want solid ground under my feet. We will talk about my future again soon. I hope to get something sorted.”
The Swans might have secured their manager’s future at the Liberty Stadium but captain Ashley Williams and keeper Michel Vorm could possibly depart the Welsh club in the summer as Liverpool circle around the defensive duo. The Telegraph report that a defensive shake-up is atop Brendan Rodgers’ to-do list and the ex-Swansea boss is keen on going back to his old home to steal their League Cup winning captain and Dutch keeper, who has long been touted as Pepe Reina’s replacement.
Swansea City have set the buy-out clause to break Michael Laudrup’s recently signed contract at a whopping £10 million, scaring off all but the richest suitors. With Laudrup flying high in his first season in the Premier League, you can only imagine that a club such as Real Madrid or Chelsea would be able to afford the extravagant buy-out clause. It’s good business for Swansea either way — whether Laudrup stays or goes at the club.
