If stories are to be believed, Mon was approached a few weeks before Bruce was sacked.

It seems therefore perfectly acceptable to think Di Canio has been approached too. Maybe that's why he turned down Readings approach last week?

So, has he been watching dvds of our games and our team? Will he know enough about us to pick a team for the weekend?

Has the whole backroom staff gone as well? Will Di Canio be bringing his own people?

The players will have maybe 4 days to meet and greet him before the game next week.

What will he do differently to get a reaction.

I'm not sure about this one tbh but strangely, I am looking forward to his press conference.

I've already said mate that I believe that if MoN can't make a difference here then no-one ever will but for the sake of the clubs future, I hope he has an effect for the next 7 games at least.

We need 6 points minimum to even give us a chance of surviving.

Just been watching a medley of his antics and opinions on TV and you tube and to be honest I've been laughing and giggling for ages.

He will be box office for sure and will bring some razzmatazz and a little bit of Italian passion. You cant fault that for sure and I have more enthusiasm for this than I would for the likes of McClaren, Hughes or Martinez.

Still totally gutted by losing Martin but life goes on and we have to pick ourselves up and fight like **** to stay up.

BTW - just had a barrage of txts from Mags to take the piss and one offered me 10/1 that we wouldn't win another game this season. I've took him for a tenner, so I'm hoping that Paulo can work some magic here in the next 7 games at least.

I just hope we are not taking on trouble he seems a loose cannon to me from what I have seen of him on tv. Although this may be the kick up the arse they all need. Then maybe they can show there true colours and play some football for gods sake

That is exactly what we do. I wish we could rely on the players to do the same.

Bloody good odds there. Mags, Stoke, Villa, Southampton all winnable if those buggers stir themselves (or the new manager gives their arses a kick).

    Loathe his political views.

As long as he puts them on the back burner and concentrates on footy all should be well.

I still think MON would have sorted our mediocre shower of ****, and we would have avoided relegation, we played well second half against Utd but didn't have the class to make it tell.
But now that's in the past...... (24 hours FFS! :p )

If we scrape enough points to stave off relegation the MON haters will be claiming Di Canio as a tactical genius.
Only time will tell what he brings to SAFC. (That's years from now not the next 7 games.)

    Sunderland till I die. <ale>

I do not know much about the guy, pushes refs over he is an Ultra and gives fascist salutes (the BNP and Ukip will like him then)

I do not know much about his time at SWINDON?

One thing is for certain, he won't put up with any piss takers & expect the same passion out of the players as he has

that's been MON's downfall, too many games where we have only performed for 45 mins or less
