I'm sorry, but this is pathetic. Too much analysis drawn from a result, rather than the performance. The goal could easily have gone the other way and everybody would be celebrating tonight. 9 shots, 5 on target is not disgraceful away from home. This myth that CH is setting out to draw matches seems embarrassingly naive to me - of course he wants to win matches. This site is beginning to sound like Canary Call in it's abject pessimism. As for the goal, Camp missed by inches of at least blocking it. It's easy for armchair warriors to do so though ('I always save those on my computer').

Best will in the world, RER, how many performances this calendar year - apart from Sunderland, can we be expected to puff our chests out and be proud of the yellow shirt? In terms of attitude, passion and desire to TAKE 3 POINTS?
No, I couldn't think of any either.

I can understand what you're saying, Cromer, but I still think that the team is trying to win when they go out. If PL's tactics were so brilliant, why are Villa 4 points behind City now? There are no easy games in this league, especially away from home. I really don't see how attacking the manager and the players is helping the situation and I also feel sure that any of the 6 teams currently below us would more than happily trade places. Yes, it's a scrap now, but let's scrap, not give up, which is what a lot of people seem to be doing.

Sorry but I disagree mate, CH goes out not to loose , and when we go a goal down he's got no plan B to change things!
Under Lambert it was always his first thought to win! That's what we've all missed this season?

It looks quite likely that either Wigan or Sunderland will struggle to better 37.Our fixtures on paper look about the easiest of the bottom half teams. We need one win and a draw.Only trouble is to win you have to score.

Ct, Wigan have won their last 3 in a row, I think they could easily get to 37 as they have momentum
They do have 3 away games in a row coming up which could break it

I just cant understand how everyone in the world can see it apart from him. All fans are sick to the back teeth of the same issues!! 1 striker who hasn't got use to this league yet. too many slow, clumsy boring players with no creativity. No impact on any match when everyone can see what's going to happen. It was just like the England game, you know the goals coming, about 10 minutes before they scored, was chance after chance and we just sat in our area. Waiting for them. MAKE A F****** CHANGE!!! what's one sub going to do in 10 minutes? what's 2 players going to do in under 5 minutes. We are paying Hughton to sit there picking his arse. I really hope we can draw our way to safety and he learns who his mass of mistakes this season and uses the money effectively like RVWW seems to be. But, there just isn't 3 worse teams than us. Everyone else is going out there and giving it a go. We just sit back and wait to concede hoping we don't. This seasons been so boring to watch, and it's so much money to watch it.

His use of substitions is laughable,it's like the old days of one change so you hung on as long as possible !

How can you say too much analysis and then quote statistics? And where did those attempts come from? I can't remember 5 on target. And the issue with many of us is that CH does not change things when the game gets under way. It is like it is scripted. I couldn't believe that seeing Scharner had been booked early and was having a mare, that we didn't put on Holt straightaway alongside Kamara to really pressurise their weakest point: their defence. 10 points clear with 7 games to go was there for the taking and he ignored it.

This is probably better asked of Hughton but why isn't Becchio getting a look in? What was the point of replacing Morison when his replacement isn't even being used?

It almost seems as if we took Becchio to get rid of Morison.

The one thing which annoys me is the reactive substitutions, we rarely seem to make them in order to change the game. Wigan are an on form team and I would have probably taken a point it's way we seem to accept a game being 0-0 and don't make decisions which could change the game. We all have our opinions on substitutions but If it's 0-0 bring a player on to change the system or who can impose themselves on the game around 70 minutes, we don't seem to do that.

Redruth, my point about 'analysis from results' was ironic, in that it is based on generalised impressions rather than actual facts, thus the statistics I quoted (which were those on Canary Player). People tend to remember some things from matches and forget others. It irritates me that people actually say there were no shots on target when there were five. I don't like losing either, but I want the team to win next week and I don't see how the criticism helps towards that.

RER, usually I would agree that criticism in football does more harm than good. However, if Hughton wants to progress the club with negative tactics and a defensive philosophy then I dont think he should be here long term. 1) because its boring and 2) because it never works.

Recent performances have been very unimpressive and gradually getting worse. I just worry that we could be on the verge of disaster.
