Right then, who's feeling confident about the Fulham game? Or the ever unpredictable derby? Need to win both or we're in serious trouble.

On my way back from the match - Obertan seriously needs to never play another game for us. I will also be glad to see the back of Simpson. That performance today cost me £78. We even think of trying to defend against Benfica we are in trouble.

Whatever happened to "we're safe now and can start looking upwards rather than below us?"

I always thought this was WAY too premature and since then we've been gradually pulled back into the mire.
Today's game was never going to yield a result, so its significance was ZERO.

However, the loss away to Wigan which we were cheated out of was HUGE. Keep losing to poor, poor teams fighting for their lives whatever the circumstances and you dump yourself in it.

But we've been like that ALL season! Confident about the Fulham and Sunderland games for getting a result?? Erm, that'll be a no methinks.

When we turn up and play well we're a mediocre, DECENT Premier League team at best. But we play 'well' once every 3-4 games.
With the squad we have over the other dross slopping around the bottom there's little excuse, even considering injuries.

Does the current side look like they have enough desire, fight to stay up? Do they even think they need to worry?

We have an embarrassing away record. Only ONE win in the PL, highest GA and given how we played today we are unlikely to pick up anymore points.

The home games agst Fulham and Mackems are so important - a minimum of 4 points is vital.

If we get hammered by Benfica then we have to sacrifice the EL 2nd leg and concentrate on the Premiership. (Anybody want a ticket for the 2nd leg?!)

I agree with Seahorses - we are not safe.

4 - 0 after 90 minutes and loads of supporters left before hearing that there was 8 minutes added on time and in those 8 minutes we stepped up a few gears and went on to win 5-4.

It was brilliant and I could hardly believe it.

Then I woke up and found it had stayed at 4-0 and had to believe it.

Another calamity but getting beat by City isn't as bad as getting beat by Wigan, but the manner in which we got beat is a bit worrying. A bad day at the office.

Never expected anything out of the game, but that was pathetic from the players. I do believe Pardew handicapped the aswell. Why play Jonas left back if you have Perch available? Just play Jonas left/right and get Obertan as far away from the first team as possible. That lad has to go, no more excuses. He has a heart the size of a newt. Tactics were wrong too. You might aswell have a bit of a go. The players have an inferiority complex with the big sides, we sit waiting to be hammered. Pardew and the coaches need to instill a different mentality for these games. You're likely to lose 80% of the time, the only way you get the other 20% is if you defend well (we didn't) and attack them (we didn't). We left Cisse completely isolated. He'd probably have been offside anyway but it would be nice to see.

There is a way to play City and when teams come to the Etihad and play precisely the way City want them too it beggars belief.
How to play City has been highlighted time and again
Every team in the champions league has it sussed
Everton Liverpool Utd arsenal and Southampton have all worked it out
City are a side that like teams to sit back and park the bus/defend deeply, what they don't like is teams that work their socks off and starve them of time on the ball & space. The more harried City become, the further back yaya retreats and becomes far less of a threat.
If you had seen us at Goodison last time out the template was there for all to see
In the last 3 seasons no team has come away with a point how Newcastle were set up yesterday and that's shameful tactics from Pardew and the supporters who were magnificent yesterday deserved an awful lot better

My thoughts exactly. Seems to make poor tactical decisions far more often than good ones.

Obertan has as much of a brain in his head as he has hairs on it! A waste of of space and money. If Pards can't see that, there's something seriously wrong.

Don't know how much Tayls gets paid for wearing these boots, but they just don't look right somehow.

At least him, Elliot and Sissoko came over to the crowd and handed and threw bits of souvenirs to them.
