7 points behind both Wigan and Villa now. Must win the next two and close that gap. Come on Liverpool tomorrow.
Why are they good results? 4 relegation rivals played, and they gained 6 points between them. Considering three of their opponents were arsenal/utd/chelsea, you'd have hoped 3/4 points would be gained max. Reading and sunderland were always going to lose. The saints and wigan games were the ones that would determine how good today's results were- and both the threatened clubs won.
Wigan winning made no difference we have to finish fourth from bottom not third from bottom - loads of teams still in the mix any team on 34 can be in trouble but we MUST WIN OUR GAMES if not.......welcome to Griffin Park!
The only good thing today is two teams who are in a bit of a nosedive, Norwich and Sunderland, both lost again. At this point in the season it's all about momentum and those two are moving the right way for us. The bottom line is we have to start winning...
The next five games are where we can get the momentum, 12 points minimum. That means we have to win as many games in the next five as we have all season, we'll give it a go...
Points-wise, today's results were worse for us than if all of reading/saints/wigan/sunderland had drawn. They were even worse than if one team had been victorious, two had drawn, and one lost. Both of those scenarios look pretty poor considering the 3 top 5 opponents- so on that basis i'd say today's results were bad. Anything other than a win Vs Fulham and the gap looks insurmountable. A villa win tomorrow and i'd be close to suggesting we're probably down anyway.
Won't be at all surprised if Villa win, don't think they are going down now We got to win 6 and hope maybe that's enough.
