Newcastle bosses have given the green light for a memorial plaque to be erected at st james' park.Fans, led by bill gibs and harry Watson have been urging united chiefs to help them realize there dream.in a meeting with club finance director john irving they were told they can have the plaque.he also agreed that a substantial amount of cash be donated to the joe Harvey memorial fund to help pay for the £10,000 4 ft by 6 ft memorial I personally didn't know any thing about this, and would of gladly contributed ,me thinks a statue on the leazes/ milburn stand corner would of been better
Great move, on a similar thought maybe the new bar at sjp could be named after sir bobby as I still think we could do more to remember him ideally Re naming a stand
Get a statue of Alan shearer ffs !! Arsenal have a statue of just about every player in there history. I love bobby robson but Alan shearer did much more for our club than he ever did in my opinion
Agree, but its normally done in memory of famous people. Shearer was/is mr newcastle so On the flip side it would be great for shearer to be able to see it before he passes Tbf we should also think about getting a plaque,re naming a stand for the great work Steve Bruce did down the road for us
Shearer will get one no doubt, but he retired less than 10 years ago. Plenty of time for him to get one
Harvey was a hard but fair player, an ex Sergeant Major in the Army who was used to being obeyed. A good leader of men and a good team player.
Putting my Cabaye 4 top on for City tomorrow but I'll be putting my 31-10-10 top on, on Sun 14.04.2013.
maybe we could start a Newcastle statue fund raising group, £1 a week from your wages or what ever, then then we could have a few, wee Hughie gallacher for a start, bob moncur, captain of our glorious 69 euro tour would be good, who else would you add
Be a bit like a Museum if we started to put statues uo for everybody. Maybe full sized pics of them around the ground or in Shearer's.
