Some key games this holiday weekend, the bookies will be giving strong odds that Reading and ourselves will be stranded 7 points behind Wigan after this weekend's games and that really would be a mountain to climb with 7 games left. Saints v Chelsea, Sunderland v Man U and Villa v Liverpool give us an opportunity to close the gap on some of our realistic targets but we really need three points on Monday. The only disadvantage we have is if results go against us we'll be really under pressure on Monday. Many pundits already have us as down, that might just work to our advantage, it's going to be the key weekend methinks...
It is pivotal. We're still in "Can be done" territory, but if we don't win on Monday, we're entering the "Need a miracle" zone.
'If we don't win on Monday' - are people taking this as a done deal that we should win on Monday away at Fulham? - short memories if you ask me, didn't we suffer our heaviest defeat there last season?. I think the driver of the 72 bus can confirm that, eh tarbs....... Oh yeh I forgot we Andrew Johnson now LMFAO.....
I think next week against Wigan could be more decisive. It is a real 6 pointer. Win and we close the gap on a direct rival. Lose and ................................. As Nuts says, every week is ultra important now.
I have done an analysis of this weekend's games under the title "Relegation Watch" on the Norwich board.Feel free to comment if you wish.
Tend to agree with Flyer here, the Villa game was the big one for us. We need 5-6 wins, and someone to fall apart. Do we have 6 winnable games ? yes. Will we win 6 probably not.
Someone did the maths and its 93% gone, it will be 100% if we dont get a minimum of 4 or maybe even all 6 points from the next 2 games.
Disagree strongly with that Goldie. I think we've been in the "need a miracle" zone for a long time already.
I agree, Swords. Difficult to see this weekend as pivotal. Been to Fulham a couple of times in recent years and can't remember ever winning or drawing, though maybe my memories faulty. We're in need of a miracle big time and have been for a good while now. Great quote on your page, by the way.
Easter always used to be the pivotal weekend of the season, deciding title, relegation & promotion issues with a full league programme on both Saturday & Monday, now thanks to The Sky Premier League it's just another weekend yet they bugger around spreading the games over 3 days.....They really haven'y got a clue.
