No way are my comments racist, but we are only a third division team when it comes to international duties. This is so because we have so many overseas players playing in the premiership. At one time we had our own brand of football but we don`t see English football any more. What we see if a mish mash of a game depending how many overseas players you have.

We have lads on the check out counters at the supermarkets who can play football but they can`t get a game because there are too many foreigners on the books of their local clubs. I remember Garth Crooks was taken on by Stoke when Tony Waddington spotted him kicking ball against a wall outside the Victoria ground. I think if that happened today he would have been told to go and play somewhere else.

This is why I am in total support of Mr Coates and the £7m he has allocated to the academy. We have a couple of first team players who have come through the system. Lets hope that many more follow and Mr Coates can realise a return on his investment.

Nothing wrong with a bit of foreign talent, football is all the better for it but when it comes to your country's team there needs to be a balance and unless other countries are going to take an interest in English talent in the same way English clubs do to my lads and other nations, there is only one place that can do it -England. Foreigners aren't the problem though it seems it, it is purely lack of of effort England put into their local lads in comparison to Germany/Spain/Brazil. Spain in particular are always trying to snap up foreign talent in a lot of cases selling the locals in favor of a better foreigner difference is in Spain we have some 30 to 40 thousand pro coaches, and kids football leagues on every corner. In England I heard you do not even have 10 thousand coaches

I must have missed something objecting to foreign footballers has nothing to do with racism.

IMO there should be a maximum of 5 foreigners in the starting 11 at any time, and only 10 allowed in the 25 man squad, the rest should be English. We do need foreigners but there are way too many now and its killing young English players who dont get a look in.

That rule would kill English football dead. The reason English lads don't get a look in is because they aren't as good. You'd have an English league but could kiss goodbye to European glory. Hire more coaches, put more money into academies instead of relying on the clubs to do it all and then eventually English players will make the line up because they're genuinely good enough. Can blame foreigners all you like but there is a reason non locals are so popular, the problem starts at home friend.

There's been talk of this before, with the English coaching methods not spending enough time on individual skills, regardless, if you can't produce a similar spec of product you ain't going to sell it.

I probably used the wrong word Nick. I am very nationalistic. British to the core. But when it comes to football I am unashamedly English.

Therefore I find it difficult for me to understand why anybody who has the chance to represent their country doesn't grab it with both hands.

I have never excelled at anything so I will never get the chance. Ah well, that`s life. If it wasn't for “ordinary” people like me, you wouldn't recognise the special one`s

Never said I blame foreigners but if English players cant get in then they are the problem, players get better with games, young foreigners are a lot cheaper to buy than a young English talent. Coaching does need to improve but if we have teams like arsenal who are not INTERESTED in playing many English players then we have to limit them. Yes we would not have much success for the first 5-10 years but when the crop comes through we will see the rewards. Im not just on about our League either this rule should apply all around the world then it cant possibly be unfair. Club football should show the best of what that particular country can bring through. Also Man Utd won many many leagues with mainly English players so it shows we can compete, and Arsenal play mainly foreign players and they are poor so I think its unfair tosay that foreigners are better we just play a different blend of football.

yet most seasons Barcelona and Madrid spend £50 million + on players from Overseas, so its not all academy orientated. Its also Quality im bothered about coaches wise, just because there are more doesnt necessarily mean they are going to produce better. They probably do but thats not always the caes.

Totally agree mate i think your idea was better lock the idiot in a room with some of the peoples relatives, make him do some charity work but banning him for life will teach him nothing mate, he needs to be educated in my humble opinion. And as i say if i caused offence it was not meant no way was i playing down the seriousness of the clowns actions potts.
