Sounds like you know that grave well.

Did she die or is it just where you buried her after you murdered her?

My Welsh-born grandfather of a Spanish immigrant would come out with so many racist remarks towards all races and nationalities. I found that really strange. He would even try and buy as many British-made products as possible. Before he passed away, I think he realised the world had changed so much and had to adapt.

My grandad was in WWI and at some point spent some time in North Africa or the Middle East, must read up on it as not sure what went on there. I know he marched up through Italy which again sounds more WWII but anyways...

He very much didn't care for coloureds, "they live like animals" he'd say. So, when the first coloured boy started at our village school, the teacher asked us to guess where he came from*. I, maybe 5, 6 or 7 years old stuck my hand up and said "My grandad calls them wogs". Teacher went apeshit.
I became best friends with that boy and once when he was at my house along with my grandad, when his dad came to get him grandad said "There's another one!". Mother was very embarrassed.

*Mauritius - no one got it right.

I sort of know what you mean, Jippy. The only time I ever got (mildly) hit as a child was when I said “eeny meeny miney mo, catch a nigger by the toe….”

My mum (correctly) sklaffed me round the head and told me I should never say such things. I had no idea what the word meant and think, although I can't be certain, that I actually learnt this rhyme from my granny. Anyway, my mum made me say it again, making sure to replace the word “nigger” with the words “black boy” – and this was deemed okay, in her curiously malfunctioning, smug liberal mind. Olden days folks was proper stoopid.

So Psycho, the moral of the story is that it's ok to apprehend black people in a seemingly painful fashion, as long as you don't drop the n-bomb <laugh>

Yes, that seemed to be about the size of it – and it’s a lesson I took earnestly to my young, liberal heart. In every racial beating I’ve administered in my life, I’ve been sure never to use the N word, to be honest - except for over and over again in my head - as this makes the courts think it’s only run of the mill violence they’re dealing with and the sentences are subsequently more lenient. Mummy’s delighted.

I heard my friend's kids do that a few years back, they replaced the word "nigger" with silence. Their mum's Asian and their dad is a policeman who's been off-work for ages suffering with stress. PC gone mad.

They replaced it with silence? How bizarre (and faintly sinister).

Incidentally, when you start saying “it’s PC gone mad” without irony, Stopme, you’re probably only a short step away from thinking “oh, now I bet they’d be nice and comfortable” when you look at a pair of slacks. Tragically, I find myself saying this a lot.

When I was growing up any form of casual racism was always strongly discouraged in our house. We were always taught to keep it quite formal.

''Do you think I'm black / Am I black ..? ''

to be used in situations where someone has ignored you, jumped passed you in the queue or not held the door for you.
