The silly season seems to have started but nevertheless I thought I'd share.....

    I guess they haven't read Ashley's £25m+ statement.... LOL.

    http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/03/24/monaco-to-make-20m-bid-for-newcastle-united-playmaker/?

Monaco are readying a £20m bid for Newcastle United playmaker Yohan Cabaye according to the Daily Star.

The principality’s Russian billionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovlev is ready to bankroll the club and no doubt hopes to emulate PSG in the long term and has set his sights on the Mapgies star.

The Ligue 2 side are set for a return to the top tier under boss Claudio Ranieri and have earmarked moves for a number of big name players but any move for Cabaye could prove problematic given that the former Lille man is under contract with the St James’ Park side until June 2016.

On the other hand Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley spent big to sign six new additions in January and could be tempted by a move to quadruple the £4.8m invested in Cabaye in July 2011.

Cabaye has been a consistent performer since his move to Newcastle United and is now a regular in the French national team set-up but a move to Monaco, with the undoubted riches that would no doubt result in such a switch, could prove hard to resist for the 27 year old.

Whereas I'm not convinced we can hold onto the lad come the summer (he is that good), I don't think he'll move back to France. He seems to like England, and had achieved all he could in France. It was a big move to up sticks and leave France, I suspect if he moves it will be to one of the big clubs in England or Italy. I could see him at Juve or Man U

Might just be a dreamer, but I expect him to hang around for a bit more yet

If we can push on next season then I think we can keep our entire squad.

Can't see him wanting to leave especially after he ensured some of his best mates came too.

    This.

If Debuchy wasn't here I could perhaps see him leaving in the summer but as things stand I think he will hang around for at least one more season, and particularly if Colo leaves and he is given the Captain's armband.

My guess is he'll only leave for a serious Champions League contender. Plus Monaco would be at least a step down in terms of quality of play.

Liverpool fans rate themselves as top draw so I am waiting for their fans making daft articles about him joining
