Richard Cresswell (Stoke, Sheff Utd etc...) At school and in the park as he was from the same place as me. I was and always will be ****e at playing. My bro, the Mackem was twice the player he was though but unfortunately discovered ***s, booze and women (in the same junior season Cresswell scored over 30 goals from CF... my bro got 52 from the wing).
It was a penalty competition for charity, and I scored 5 out of 5 and won the competition, although I can't remember what the prize was, so it mustn't have been much..
I once scored a header from a Gary Bennett cross. The goal posts were 2 jackets but i still jumped like a salmon to head it home at the back jacket.
I played with Clive "Choc" Mendonca for Sunderland U14s back in 83/84. Also played against him many times in the Sunday Youth leagues, Choc for Doxy Park, me for Ryhope High Fryer .......... and he was always gonna make it as a Pro, was bloody deadly from anywhere in the box ............ ........ and didn't we know all about it at that thrilling Play-off final in 98.
Sammy Ameobi - and he never looked like much at around 15/16. Also Samson the cat when we used to have people on the pitch at half time, Uncle scored a worldie chip over him!!
Played in same team a couple of times with Tony philliskirk (now on Oldham' s coaching staff) also played alongside ex mag Bruce halliday, although I have had Marco gabbiadini in my sitting room for 10 mins
