Some bitterness exists within the Wigan fan base it seems.....

I really don't know what is worse.... the fact that this muppet believes WE are in the wrong for Pardew and Carver's 'actions'... or that over 4000 people have actually seen this monkey crap.
It seems one of their three fans have been taking PR lessons from the oracle that is Whelan.

    http://www.wiganer.net/news/tmnw/cl...ecoil_after_some_bruising_788879/index.shtml?

Alan Pardew and John Carver were left in a state of embarrassment this week as Massaido Haidara's injury was revealed to be some bruising.
The 20 year old French full back was on the end of a hard tackle from Latics winger Callum McManaman. The ensuing incidents were escalated by Newcastle, and in particular manager Alan Pardew and his assistant John Carver.
The duo created a scene that led to Carver being sent to the stands by referee Mark Halsey with Pardew's comments after the game particularly damning and disrespectful.
Now news has emerged that Haidara will be out for just three weeks with a bruised knee.
Perhaps it would be wise for the FA to take retrospective action against the Newcastle boss and send him to the same school of class that Latics boss Roberto Martinez exhuded in deadling with the same incident.
After threats of legal action from Newcastle it will be interesting to see just what they attempt to chase the Latics with.
Meanwhile a group of Newcastle supporters invaded the pitch of Wigan Cosmos who were playing their Saturday league game on a pitch nearby the DW Stadium.
The Newcastle supporters continued to cause significant damage to the goals posts and associated equipment before the rabble moved on to their next target.
This is truly an incident where retrospective action from the FA is called for.

Not even worth bothering about. The whole country has already made their minds up on this one, and it wont change just cos of a few ****heads like this bloke or Dave Whelan. As long as we have Haidara back in one piece it doen't matter what a few sad idiots say.

The most important thing is that Haidara's injury is not long term and will not destroy his career. It is immaterial that the injury is not as severe as first thought. The clubs reaction, media reaction, fellow players reaction and fans reaction to it was completely appropriate, with the vast majority rightly condeming it. It was a horrendously dangerous and reckless tackle, that clearly left the player in considerable pain.
I am just really pleased that Haidara's will recover quickly and hopefully with no long term repercussions, surely that is all that matters in this very unsavoury business, not point scoring and nit picking over who holds the moral high ground.

Surely the article should be focusing on Haidara's superhuman feet of surviving McManaman's best crippling efforts?

I had a rather amusing interaction with a twitter troll who held similar views. Saying Carver's behaviour was the most abhorrent thing they'd seen because he'd made Callum "cry", I politely responded with "It's such a shame for Callum having to pick up pieces of his knee from the turf because of nasty Carver's words... Oh... Wait a minute"... He then assaulted my twitter with abuse...

And you know how I get <whistle>

**** McManaman, **** that old bastard Whelan and **** Wigan, to the grave. I can't wait till they get relegated and they are cast back into the abyss from whence they came.

I don't hate McManaman. He made a terrible challenge which could have resulted in a hideous injury but luckily didn't. He needs to apologise and learn, there is no evdience that eithprised ater has happened yet. It is Wigan I am suprised at. Martinez always struck me as having integrity, he wants people to stop going on about it? It was a clear red card offence (at the very least), if he had just said he wouldn't pick Callum for three games (which he would otherwise have been suspended for) then I would have still thought they dodged a bullet but wouldn't be angry at them.

Whelan has always been a tool but I'm surprised at Martinez and now hope Wigan go down to be honest, not because of the challenge but the reaction to it. I also worry that Wigans poor handling of this will result in a stigma on McManaman which is over-the-top for what was simply a hideous challenge. Wigan have escalated this far more than Newcastle have.

You'd love a Dave Whelan at your club, as opposed to a Mike Ashley.

It was a bad challenge, but thankfully the lad's not seriously injured and that should be the end of the matter. Reading the posts from Newcastle fans, you lot just sound like a bunch of whinging idiots. By all means be upset with the tackle, but some of the comments that you are coming out with make you no better than the person who you are attacking. I mean, wishing hurt on people? Saying this or that person deserves to be hurt? That makes you no better than the player who make the challenge in the first place. The irony really is striking.

Get over yourselves. Move on. Focus on the fact that your player isn't seriously injured.

Wasn't for the lack of trying though was it?

That Haidara was incredibly lucky and escaped the undoubted harm that kind of challenge can do is irrelevant.
We're happy that signs are he'll be ok and back quicker than expected, but it seems 'ironic' Haidara's health has suddenly become of interest to Wigan now the injury appears not to be serious.
It seemed to me Martinez and Whelan were far more preoccupied with Callum McManaman's well-being until that point.

The fact remains that the perpetrator is still out there on the pitch playing before Massadio, the victim, can return.
A point of bitterness for our fans was all about belatedly administering the deserved punishment and frankly settling the score regarding player layoff. The opportunity to give anything correctly in NUFC's favour was long gone at the final whistle.

Any angry, unnecessary revenge or vigilante attitudes towards the kid Callum are born out of the authorities inability to administer any reasonable justice. Tends to bring out the nasty side of fans that, and indeed rival players.
Wigan as a club in fairness added fuel to the fire by effectively laughing at NUFC's predicament, with a disappointing lack of contrition and an irresponsible defense of what ALL unbiased commentators condemned.

But emotional stuff on this thread aside, the definitive conclusion was it was a naive, wreckless, dangerous challenge which was missed by the officials and was allowed to escape warranted sanction by an ill-judged FA loophole.
He should have been given a 3-match ban in line with the straight red card never shown, end of story. Wigan profiteered unfairly but all clubs get that in various forms in EVERY match.

Thankfully, as we're constantly told, the game has an inevitable divine habit of "evening things up" though doesn't it?

Telling us to focus on our player yet you're on here moaning like a bitch? I hope McManaman gets snapped in two. If you want to go round trying to deliberately injure people the you have to expect people to wish ill on you. He's just spineless little coward.
