Well most of us are very excited about our new 'stellar' signing Ricky Van Wolswinkel and I bet many of you, like me, have been riveted to 'youtube' watching him bang the goals in for FC Utrect and Sporting. It's very difficult to gauge the size of the crowds while watching these video clips, but in the case of Sporting, it seemed that RVW was playing in front 50k in their home games ! However it seems that Sporting's attendances average out at approx 30k but probably a lot more when playing Porto or Benfica ? So it seems that our fan base is not too dissimilar from theirs as with stadium expansion we would undoubtedly attract the same size crowds. So I would suggest that although the money plays a big factor in this move for him, the fact that we play our football in the Premier League, means that we are certainly a 'step up' for him in his career. In the whole scheme of things Norwich are currently in a creditable 62nd place when it comes to attendances, ten places behind Sporting. The Bundesliga seems to be the best supported League in European football and this is IMO due to the fact of their realistic admission prices and in some cases 'safe standing' areas, (Premier League take note). Surprisingly, well to me anyway, Dortmund are currently the best supported club in Europe behind Barca with an 80k average a clear 11k more than Germany's perceived biggest club Bayern Munich. A tier on the Jarold? We're going to have a very lopsided stadium! I think we've had this debate before, and whilst I think the conclusion was that the City stand has the foundations to add another tier, a re-build of the entire stand may be better long-term. It would have to be done over a summer though presumably, because of all the changing rooms/facilities in that stand.
Football is popular in Germany as it is here but they have terracing and a reasonable ticket pricing system. When we add the extra tier it will interesting to see how many fans we get, there are certain games it's impossible to get tickets for others as Super Members we've quite easily booked up five seats in the same area of the ground.
David mcnally tweeted ages ago for us to increase capacity by 8k it would cost us 20mil and on the pitch is a priority 1st. He did say after 3 seasons in the top flight it would be considered, depending on how we are performing on the pitch which is exactly the right way to go about it. Just look at wolves
Been lucky enough to attend a few games in Germany. Always a great turn out but like what was mentioned before , affordable.
Seems every country is having that problem Dorset, you only need to have a look at the top league tables and all seem to have mixed up a bit with big clubs struggling and replaced by more up and coming clubs.
No, sorry, what I meant was in the list why are a couple of clubs attendances completely in the wrong position in the list?
Looking at the note next to their names, I think it's because those are average 2012-13 attendances, rather than 2011-12 and it's making the point that those teams have just been relegated, so their attendances have plummeted.

A friend of my lived in Germany for a while and they used to go on about price differences between the two leagues. German being more affordable, but also Germany have about 20 million people in terms of population. But our lower leagues are better supported
