Based on Kovalainen's performances vs Petrov last year, I'm not convinced about his race pace, nor do I think the Caterham is quick enough to match Marussia/Bianchi even with Kovalainen's awesome qualifying performances. Having said that you make a very good point. Also having an experienced reliable driver will be very handy in the crazy unpredictable races (where the backmarkers are most likely to get their best result).
Yeah. I thought it was harsh, there was another car tucked right up Kimi's arse and there was spray and the light was poor. He did impede him though.
I was surprised by Kimi's penalty, I thought there was more of a case with Perez's blocking. Crazy really. Make's things more interesting for the race tomorrow though. Roll on 8am, I would expect the fast starting Ferrari's to take the lead and I'll go for an Alonso victory if it stays dry. If it rains it's anyone's race.
Massimo Rivola thinks Ferrari have a good chance of winning if it's dry. It's looking more likely the race will be dry It's confirmed, Red Fools are bad losers:
Is that GMT or local time BLS? Because local time the race is scheduled for about 4pm I think? Also, F1LT looks amazing.
De La Rosa says Alonso's car was set-up for the race and not qualifying, which I presume to mean it will have great tyre management and will be a MONSTER in a few hours. You can't take anything from Q2 because it was already raining by the time Alonso set his lap, but on hards in Q1 he was within a tenth of Rosberg (and NR thinks he was in the fight for pole). And this in a car that was set-up for the race. What a great car Ferrari have built this year! Helmut Marko wasn't joking when he said Ferrari were the biggest threat in the WCC. Forza Ferrari!
I think Ferrari got very lucky in Qualifying. The race is in their hands now. I was expecting the mercedes to be ahead but its 1 less hurdle to tackle. I predict a ferrari to lead the first lap
