Would quite like Saints and Reading to stay up, but not at all hopeful about Reading.

Mackems don't do that on our board, but your lot make stupid threads about us all the time on the Sunderland board. There are so many pointless threads on the Mackem board also.

At least Reading is like a home game for you.

Derby Days are the reason I don't want them to go down. I think they'll escape the drop....just.

I'm really hoping Wigan, Villa and QPR drop for obvious reasons.

I'd hate Sunderland to go down, the Derby days are great, nerve wracking, gut wrenching, nail biting stuff, love it!
Like all NE teams to do well, obviously want us to be top team, but I really hope Sunderland can turn their season around.

I don't really like derby days that much, mainly because it's just 3 points at the end of the day.

Where you finish at the end of the season is what matters. If we lose twice to Sunderland in a season but finish 20 points above them, then who has the real bragging rights?

They'd still think they had them.

Good question Tash. A good test for all of us it to answer that question. Then, reverse the situation. Do you still come out with the same result?

I think the whole point of bragging rights is that you brag about what you can. Both sets of fans would brag about both situations. Where you are seen as a club though is based on where you finish in the table and/or what silverware you win, so you're right Tash that finishing higher is better.

Agree with that, hence my prior question. We'd all see any element of one-upmanship (real word?) as bragging right. Ultimately either league position, or winning silverware would do it for me.

You lot are practically safe now.

Here's how I see it panning out.
I'd like QPR to go down and take 'Arry with them.
Wigans seasonal Houdini act has become tiresome and has to end sometime.
Reading are looking likely to drop also.
But Villa Soton and SAFC could easily throw one of the above a lifeline if they're not careful.

Reckon we'll survive , JUST. But it's gonna be bloody nerve racking till the end of the season.

    Probably wouldn't have liked it.

Just seemed topical at the time.

We defo want them up. I always say 17th every season for them will do me. The derbies are great fun and talking points in the season. They do look in a spot of bother but hopefully we'll both survive

With quite a few giving Mike Ashley the thumbs-up recently, it's worth remembering that we're not safe yet.

I think the Wigan game has changed the whole scenario at the bottom of the table...

Like i've said previously, if we'd won (McMananman being sent off & no hand-ball winner for them) then I would consider us pretty safe - as it stands, we could easily get dragged back in now.

I really don't see Sunderland getting relegated - once it gets a bit 'iffy', MON will get them fired up enough to scrape enough points.
