I didn't say you were wrong. Everyone is allowed their own opinions on music - you included - but that doesn't mean you have any ****ing right to say, for example:

Therefore criticizing the people who like them. Or in other words, essentially, calling them wrong.

    Contradiction, maybe? <ok>

What, even the hundreds of millions of people who bought their records and singles, the millions who went to their concerts?

    Grow the **** up.

The fact you said "they only did Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger" shows how much you know about them. That is the equivalent of saying you support a certain team but have only ever seen them on TV...

Taking the mick, considering you later say you like Ian Dury & The Blockheads, who famously sang "Sex 'n' Drugs & Rock n Roll". The irony!.

I know this sounds a bit anti-disabled people, but I was about 16 / 17 when Ian Dury and The Blockheads were at their so-called peak and virtually everyone thought they were absolute ****e.
I think it was the patronising media (particularly the Beeb) that played their singles all the time and gave them their modest success.
Also when I listen to the same tracks now I hear nothing to make me change my mind.

Coldplay seem to be getting a kicking. But I thought there first two albums where very good. X&Y was poor, Viva Le Vida was okayish and Mylo Xyloto was shocking.

Music is dynamic. Each dawn is influenced by previous dawns - ask any musician who influenced their craft. It is surprising how many bands you may like have been influenced by those you may not like, or have never listened to. This transcends across pub bands to superstars. Original music is never really original, it is an interpretive art form, synthesized from those who've gone before, or maybe even from contemporaries in the business.Criticizing others likes & dislikes is meaningless. Just a simple "I don't like your choice" will suffice, no need for insulting commentary, as it just indicates ignorance or narrow-mindedness, more kindly, lack of awareness.

Music is there to be enjoyed...to each his own ?

An example of the synthesis suggested in my earlier post...not sure Ian Anderson or Jimmy Page & Robert Plant would agree though ? There are more links in the chain of the dynamic nature of music....

It just sounds ****ish rather than 'anti disabled people'.

Dury had polio- no one else was disabled.

Polio did not affect his clever, wry and sharp lyrics.

The Blockheads were streets ahead of most 'New Wave' players around back then.

Lydon, Madness and many many more stole so much from Dury, his attitude, his dress sense, and his use of vaudeville.

Shame he got championed by Anne Nightingale.

Try 'Sweet Gene Vincent' or 'Plaistow Patricia' or 'Wake up' to understand this.
