According to the E/P there are no new additions coming, are we strong enough to survive..? 2 maybe 3 out on loan, 2 or 3 are injured and we are bottom of the table with 8 to go..... ' No new arrivals expected at Ashton Gate as loan deadline looms.. Todayâs deadline for emergency loan signings was expected to pass without any new arrivals at Ashton Gate. Bristol City head coach Sean OâDriscoll has until 5pm to bolster a squad that has been depleted by injuries to strikers Jon Stead and Ryan Taylor and utility defender Richard Foster. Brendan Moloney remains the only long-term signing made by Bristol City head coach Sean O'Driscoll. please log in to view this image But The Post understands there is now very little prospect of OâDriscoll finding any suitable short-term signings that satisfy the requirements of availability and cost. And that means he will almost certainly go into the final eight games of the npower Championship campaign with his existing squad. Since taking over as head coach in mid-January, the Midlander has signed right-back Brendan Moloney on a free transfer from Nottingham Forest and recruited centre-back Matthew Bates and midfielder Brian Howard on short-term contracts until the end of the season. There could be one out-going later today, providing OâDriscoll can find a club for teenage midfielder Bobby Reid, who is available for loan.' http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/new-...tory-18481778-detail/story.html#axzz2OAT5yUHy Can We Cope ...?
NO sad to say it, We only have 2 strikers at the club who can play, One is baldock who never seems fit. The other Davies who we all know is a injury hazard, If one of them pick up an injury what do we do? Or even worse what if both pick up injuries...... Its going to be a long nervous end to the season
We have enough players with the current formation which has been playing one up front. but when you look around we are the only team down the bottom not to bring in any loan signings. Peterborough has been a much better teach since the Man Utd loanees have come in. Squad size, we have enough players but are they good enough if we picked up a few more injuries you would have to say no. There are some exciting young talents at the club that could do a job but SOD has closed the door of them this season with the likes of Bryan going to Plymouth to the end of the season. Its going to go down to the last game of the season which I still think we can get enough at home point wise to stay up but on the chance we did go down I hope it will be on points and not on our shocking goal difference thanks to Dels defence.
