    Pundits Are Misleading Us

Last weeks post match analysis on Match Of The Day was one that saw two pundits criticise QPR's star man. They described him quite incorrctly as a player you can only use as a substitute.

As a journalist or pundit it should be your duty to report the truth with no bias.

Unfortunately, what I have witnessed recently is that all of these people have an agenda of some sort. To label QPR's most influential player of recent times as they did shows there is a inherent problem with the way football is viewed in this country.

The worry is that most people will base their opinions on what they hear on MOTD or in the newspapers. And for this reason I think it is imperative that they are honest about the games, players and managers in order for our public to be educated correctly.

At Villa Park last Saturday, Taarabt came on as a second half substitute when the R's were looking for a way back into the game after falling behind. Needless to say he came on and made a difference. He played some defence splitting passes, ran at the Villa back line and looked like a threat. For those that have seen him play week in week out it will be hard to disagree that he has been the one to light up many Saturday afternoons. Yet each time he takes to the field he finds himself open to unfair derisory comments from the pundits.

Week after week we will see a boring Stoke City committing serious crimes against football - Keeping it tight at the back and whacking it up to Crouch then getting the knock-downs - How often do you hear the ex-professionals who, should know better criticising these dated tactics. Or being truthful about the fact that these players are not being allowed to grow and express themselves under such bad management. The answer is never. In fact it is the opposite. Often we hear how well these managers have done with limited resources and bla bla bla! It's a lie! Every manager has the choice of how they want their team to play, regardless of finances. Swansea are a prime example. They are proving that good football can be successful and entertaining.

Due to the lack of honesty we have had in the media over the years, it is unpopular to warm to a skilful player in this country. There is always an excuse to dislike them.

Instead of applauding these types of players like we see everywhere else in the world, we are told that they are a luxury, that they can't fit into the team, that they are 'fancy dan' players. The managers and players with these beliefs are ruining the football in this country. We would much rather see a reckless enforcer that flies about the pitch aimlessly in order to win the ball back and kick it into the channel or into the stands. This type of play is often met with a war-like cheer from the crowd and regarded as brave and courageous, yet in most countries this type of player would be booed off the pitch.

With these opinions resonating with the majority of the english public it is no wonder that the technical game winners are being kept out of the game.

There is no longevity in those hopeful "HOOF AND SEE" tactics.

Bang on the money here as I was incensed with Shearer's comments about Adel Taarabt ... The ****er has lost all credibility with me as he labels him as a striker at one point.

Taarabt's rubs people up the wrong way for sure but even they had to highlight exactly what he did in the Villa game coming on as instantly he looked the best player on the park. I couldn't care a flying **** about opinions on here against him the proof was there to see.... Yet with this they then downgraded him as only a impact player.

I feel so strongly about this player Taarabt as being the genius he truly is and I am still willing to bet that if he was to be playing in a side like United Milan, PSG, Madrid etc ... which I firmly believe he could and maybe will play for one day then the world would be loving him. That is why i get so heated when i read such crap rubbishing him.

Anyone who cannot see this player's skill and potential has to be seriously blind.

This sounds like hero worship and I don't care because I know i am right about him ... the best playmaker I have seen since Zidane.

    Thank You Richard Langley

Can't disagree with any of that Dave. My 12 year old idolises him and says 'it is exciting when he gets the ball Dad as he might do something amazing' Couldn't sum it up better myself.

Yeh Thank You Richard Langley! Fortunately I don't see MOTD up here, but get more than enough of the amazing criticism of Adel on and through here, too much praise of players who, to misquote Zlatan a bit, can't do with a football what Adel can do with a clementine, and too much praise on the TV of teams like Stoke and WHU under Alladyce who play football guaranteed to to kill the game in England if they were to become role models for other Clubs.

No surprise Langley coming out with that sh*te. He was another player who had bags of potential yet pissed it all away with a bad attitude. Next we'll have Akos Buzsaky defending him. <doh>

The lads on MOTD, although a pair of tits, were bang on the money Saturday night.

Dublin was hopeless I thought. Seemed unaware we had won the previous two games.

As Taarabt contributes very little in terms of play and his primary function is to put the ball in the net then I would suggest that six goals in 48 games is not an adequate return. He was far more prolific in the championship suggesting that he is out of his depth in the top tier.Swords is just the messenger,Shoot him at your peril.

That's not his primary function at all.

I'm aware of that. He'll tell us he'd rather have Hoolahan in a minute.
