I'm as annoyed at Jose as the rest of you but here's a question for you all

If in 1-2 months time Jose signs a new long term contract will he be forgiven

80% forgiven. The other 20% will be unforgiven because he's spent months faffing around, never being honest and leaving us in the lurch. If you highly respect a club and its fans you don't piss around like that.

Surely if Enrique gets dropped tomorrow then Ferguson will remain at left wing and young Perch will play left! He looks a good prospect that Perch!:bandit:

Edit: Remembered that Perch is injured.

I dont care if he stays or goes anymore. the least he could do is just confirm what he is doing. its not right that he can halt our planning for the transfer window like this. he is not bigger than the team. if he thinks he is then he can **** off. i know he stuck with us but if he is getting an ego then i dont want him. as it was egos that got us relegated

Also if jose leaves it could be a good opportunity for Kádár to make his mark next season.

Its a better opportunity for us to finally sign a left back rather than throwing centre halfs out there. I'm convinced Newcastle bosses just forget about the position altogether. We've had Bez, Bernard and Jose, in between that we've played N'zogbia miles out of position, Aaron Hughes and a couple of stop gaps. Just once it'd be nice to have a first choice left back, AND a backup. Imagine that!

Emilo Izaguirre would be a good replacement. His style of play is similar to Enrique although he is inferior to Jose in terms of quality & is unproven at PL level. The SPL(currently) is probably about Championship level so I'm not sure I'll go for him. Maybe Gibbs from Arsenal on a loan deal with a view to perm would be a worthy punt? Or if it not then Cheick' Menbgun(sp) or Jose Angel(quality on FM11) from La Liga. <ok>

Am I the only one that thinks it's obvious that he'll leave if we don't spend, but stay if we do? I really think that's quite obvious

Anyone remember the Steven Taylor contract saga? I'm hoping for the same end result...

I think you're being generous there mate, other than the top 2 I reckon the SPL is more like League 1. I do like the look of that M'Bengue though, at least we seem to be targetting recognised LB's.

Steven Taylor was transfer listed! Difference is, if Jose was transfer listed other clubs would actually want to buy him. No one wanted Taylor!

Mmm.. well to be fair I think out of the ''top 2'', Hearts and Dundee United could comfortably play in the Championship, Kilmarnock/Motherwell/Inverness/Aberdeen could survive and the rest(Hibernain/St.Mirren/Hamilton FC/St.Johnstone) could be promotion contenders in L1 IMO. In conclusion the state of the SPL isn't great but it's not **** either.

Didn't he nearly end up at everton?

back to the main topic.... If we dont sign any decent players at the beginning of the window - hes gone. If we do then we might have a slim chance of holding onto him.

Sorry to sound grumpy but I'm totally sick of hearing about him and whether he will stay or not. Enrique sign on the dotted line or **** off! Other than confirmation of either of those events I don't want to hear anymore about it.

Don't really think that's true about any of them. Newcastle were beaten quite soundly by Rangers in pre-season and they looked better than us throughout the game. I'd say they and Celtic are about our level if not better, and the teams below are EPL battlers/CCC team, with a few League One title challengers.

Does that mean Stevenage are our level or better? I totally disagree there mate, I think they're quite poor. Bottom half prem level at best imo.

Players who struggle in the EPL are quality at SPL level. So I'm not sure just how good Celtic/Rangers are.

I'd put them in the Prem, but they wouldnt achieve much.
