I hate any organsied set of supporters that try to set the agenda and make out they care about the club more than those who are not members. the worst example for me is the Barmy Army who are the self appointed greatest fans in the world and pollute the atmosphere at England's test cricket matches. They get hideously drunk, chant incessantly, abuse the opposition and are not averse to threatening violence when asked to keep the noise down or sit down by people who have paid £60 to get into the ground and, not unreasonably, want to sit down and watch the game in peace.
A football supporters group that insists that you go to their own history lessons before becoming a full member. Sounds just like they are trying to indoctinate and radicalise young, often ill-educated fans. You can have singing sections and vocal supporters without their bollocks.
Yeah you have to be recomended into the group by someone who can vouch for you then you have a 9 month period I think it is were you are not a full member. You are then required to attend their meetings, gatherings, protests and sit through history lessons. How ****ed up is that.
