to save me going on BBC webshite can you give me a synopsis of why he's withdrawn? other than the being a **** thing obviously.
So what ? Not as if England have any chance of winning the WC anyway. We should be able to still qualify though with what we have got. Serves the FA right for pissing off JT and handling that whole episode so cock handed. .
cheers APM aye, ****. honestly I can't wait to get shot of this whole 'old guard'. supposed to be a good crop and they've delivered toss all!
The guys a prick. I reckon the conversations went like this: Oct 2012 Rio: I wanna play for England Roy: No! Nov 2012 Rio: I wanna play for England Roy: No! Dec 2012 Rio: I wanna play for England Roy: No! Jan 2013 Rio: I wanna play for England Roy: No! Feb 2013 Rio: I wanna play for England Roy: No! March 2013 Roy: I'm selecting you to represent your country again Rio: Don't want to! Roy: ****!
Not one for the future is he, Hodgson needs to be a bit more progressive these days than calling up players who were the next big thing in the 90's
If Roy wants to get the country behind him he should make a statement, that due to Ferdinand having a glass back and prioritising his club over his country he will never again be considered for England- the ****ing pwick.
I'm pretty sure Rio would never have been selected had all the usual choices been fit and available. The fact that Caulker was next on the list to replace Rio suggests Roy was already short of options. I'd be happy never to see him in an England shirt again. Although I still to this day wonder what it was Craig ***an said to him to get him to punch him during that game at Old Trafford.
IMO we should be giving the likes of Jones, Smalling and Caulker a chance. Even players like Dawson and Jagielka are to old to building a side with.
Smalling Walker Cleverley Oxlade-Chamberlain Walcott Sturridge Welbeck Caulker 8 out of the 23 were 23 or under at the start of the season, you need experience with the kids or we'll just get flogged every week. But yeah, as I said about Ben Foster the other day, once you've turned your back on your country then that should be it, withdraw from a squad and play in the next game and you miss a couple for England. We need players who are committed to the cause, not just blokes who fancy it occasionally.
To a point i agree with you. Now is the time to try and use what we have fit and ready. For the San Marino game IMO the defence should be WALKER DAWSON CAULKER BAINES For the all important Montenegro game the defence should be :- JOHNSON CAHILL LESCOTT COLE,Ashley Job sorted. Shame that Jags and Phil Jones are still out injured.
Old and past it, shouldn't have been called up anyway. They only did it when Terry wasn't around as well. Caulker seems a good player. We should't be scared of giving youngsters a chance earlier if you ask me.
To be fair to Rio, I'd have been tempted to tell Hodgson to ram it aswell! Formerly a first choice pick for club and country, playing well enough to still be first choice (although that says more about the lack of depth), but only seen as worthy enough to play when theres nobody else. I would have been saying "Cheers Woy, but go **** yourself" **** the lot of em! Chester and Hobbs for England!
The word formerly been the key one there, in between those days and now he's been almost constantly injured, his form now is only just getting close to what it used to be, hence Roy's non-selection has pretty much been justified.
