gotta say i thought most pool fans were ok, but they just turned out to be sore losers with ideas above their station
Easy three points? I thought you're team worked hard were very disciplined and toiled for 90 minutes to earn their three points. We made it easier though Didn't really read moniker, it's She I thought only blokes can be knobs So I guess she was being a twat then
I like the Saints, don't like us going there though. We got a very bad record down there at the moment, hope you stay up. Definitely not a championship team.
Disappointed because after the horror show of the first half, we still managed to score and still be in the game. We should have been much better in the second half and Soton play with a high line and will always leave space behind their defence. Our attack was poor (for the first time in a while actually) and just simply ran out of ideas. However, I feel that the lack of a solid midfield played its part and starved the attack. I read somewhere that Rodgers has no desire to bring in a DM to compete with Lucas - he seriously needs to reconsider his stance as it's clear to see how poorly we perform.
Sad to say guys as others have said....it just was not your day. There is no doubt that you have class in your side it was all there to see. The difference is that we have good players, not yet the finished article, with the exception of maybe class players like... Ramirez.... Schneiderlin and Lambert. Your game plan was wrong it suited our game and we took full advantage. As for those that say we are a Championship side......may I remind them we earned our stripes and got promotion back to the top division from which we were relegated 5 years ago. We were one of the founding members of the premier league. Saints have always been a bogey side for Liverpool and I can go back to the days when Liverpool where in the then second division with Saints.......The year Liverpool were promoted if memory serves we beat you three times that year both league matches and a cup game!! We too have passionate fans and it is therefore understandable that if someone shows a distinct disrespect to any club, just as your fans would, they are going to retort. Thankfully it is a minority on either side. Liverpool are a good club with a good history, the type of club Saints would like to emulate in many ways. We are hopefully now on our way up......lets just let the football do the talking and see how we get along.
Wouldn't take to much notice of people calling your team a Championship side mate, completely outplayed both us and City in recent weeks and you do play some lovely football, you just got to start beating the teams around you and start pushing up the table. Hope you lot stay up, the more footballing sides in this league the better
Why haven't you put them back on your kit then? Not quite the same without the red and white stripes.
Don't you people stop and read before mouthing-off! There was no disrespect to your club in my opinion that your side is a very good standard Championship side in terms of the quality of your players and the style of football that you play. It was not a knee-jerk reaction to the result. It is my opinion but it appears that we now have a situation wherein only the pc voice is allowable. To me this situation is wholly unacceptable. So enjoy your pc world and welcome to it!
You can't call them a Championship side in the context that you did & then claim it's not disrespectful. They're now a PL side & look certainties to retain that status, so calling them a 'very good Championship side' is merely a dig, as it has no basis in fact Dave. Stop flogging a dead horse, you got beat, you were pissed off, you had a pop - the end.
without a doubt you lost it in midfield, Gerrard has his limitations and his main one is that he does not press the other team to win back the ball and he is always looking for that 40 yard pass, yet when he did have the ball we had 2 or 3 players hassling him. Why you did not start with Lucas is baffling as Allen can just vanish during a game. Only in a few games have we not been dominant in midfield, and in these games we have played really badly
Blimey, this thread got a bit tasty. Fair play to the Saints, could tell we were going to be in trouble when the midfield was announced, BRs mistake. Better team on the day won, if BR got his tactics right might have been a different story. Good luck for the rest of the season. Jen, I'd take that bet but it could be 30 years before either of us pay out.
Shame that this descended into little fragments of schoolyard bickering at times, Liverpool fans can get a bad rap but overall there seems to be a very good bunch over here, unfortunately just like any cross-section of society there are your share of people that rub you the wrong way, just as there are on our board. It is lamentable that it seems the primary reason some people seem to cross the divides of the team forums is to antagonize other fans, and it seems winning brings the worst out in people. Good luck with the rest of the season, I reckon after the let-down at St. Mary's there will really be a rocket up the teams backside in your next few and there will be some punishment handed out to Villa, Reading and the Hammers, the real test may be that once again after a few good results if you can keep it up in the crucial three games after that. See you next season, hopefully!
